Patent number: 4438085Abstract: Dihydroxyaluminium sodium carbonate is prepared by reaction between an ionic aluminium salt and a stoichiometric excess of sodium carbonate in aqueous medium in the presence of sodium hydroxide at a pH in the range 7.2 to 10.5. An amount of sodium carbonate at least ten times, and preferably fifteen times, by weight that of the aluminium salt is used and/or sodium salt by product, but not sodium carbonate, is precipitated from the aqueous medium. Preferably, the sodium salt is precipitated by saturation of the aqueous medium with sodium carbonate and sodium salt by-product at a sodium carbonate concentration less than the invarient concentration for sodium carbonate and consequently at a sodium salt by product concentration greater than the invarient concentration for sodium salt by product. The sodium carbonate-containing aqueous medium after separation of sodium salt by-product is reused as a source of sodium carbonate for subsequent reaction with additional aluminium salt.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1981Date of Patent: March 20, 1984Assignee: Nicholas Proprietary LimitedInventor: Jeffrey L. Patent number: 4437832Abstract: The subject lamp wick equipment for a combustion apparatus comprises a cylindrical lamp wick, cylindrical lamp wick holder and cylindrical auxiliary lamp wick holder. The peripheral wall of the lamp wick is provided with openings. The auxiliary lamp wick holder is fitted around the lamp wick, and comprises engagement holes formed at that spots of the peripheral wall of the auxiliary lamp wick holder which face the openings. The cylindrical lamp wick holder is fitted around the cylindrical auxiliary lamp wick holder. The engagement pawls of the lamp wick holder are so elastically urged as to project thereinto. When the lamp wick is fitted into the auxiliary lamp wick holder, which in turn is fitted into the lamp wick holder, then the engagement pawls of the lamp wick holder project into the engagement holes of the auxiliary lamp wick holder and the openings of the lamp wick, thereby preventing the lengthwise relative movement of the lamp wick and lamp wick holder.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1982Date of Patent: March 20, 1984Assignee: Toshiba Heating Appliances Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazunori Amano, Youichi Sekiwaga

Patent number: 4437775Abstract: In this invention, the rear ends of the printing needles are bent and prevented from being pulled out by being embedded in needle caps. The needle caps are flat, and the longitudinal directions of the cross-sections of the needle caps are coincident with the radial direction of the printer. The rear ends of the needles are arranged in annular form. Each needle cap is slidably held by a guide body. Lateral displacement of the needles is prevented, and the contacting area between the needle caps and an armature of an electromagnet is reduced. A ring connecting the rear ends of the needles is reduced in size, providing a margin at both sides of the needle cap and armature. The bending amount of the needle is reduced, and the sliding resistance of the needle is reduced, which improves the durability of the needles and the needle guides. Also a small armature may be used, thereby saving on the consumption of power in that an electromagnet of small capacity may be used.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1982Date of Patent: March 20, 1984Assignee: Tokyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kuniaki Ochiai, Masami Horii, Hidekazu Ishii
