Functional alogorthemic enhancements of the communications network are used, enabling the communications network to automatically determine the current network configuration and the accessibility of the transceivers that are associated with the communications network by using measurements and to determine the optimal position of a master station at any one time from the data obtained from the measurements.
Abstract: A location beacon database and server, method of building location beacon database, and location based service using same. Wi-Fi access points are located in a target geographical area to build a reference database of locations of Wi-Fi access points. At least one vehicle is deployed including at least one scanning device having a GPS device and a Wi-Fi radio device and including a Wi-Fi antenna system. The target area is traversed in a programmatic route to reduce arterial bias. The programmatic route includes substantially all drivable streets in the target geographical area and solves an Eulerian cycle problem of a graph represented by said drivable streets. While traversing the target area, Wi-Fi identity information and GPS location information is detected. The location information is used to reverse triangulate the position of the detected Wi-Fi access point; and the position of the detected access point is recorded in a reference database.

Abstract: This invention relates to an oral formulation containing an effective amount of the compound of the following formula I: d-alpha-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate (“TPGS”); and 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethanol (“Transcutol”). R1 through R4 and n are defined herein. Also disclosed is a method of treating cancer by administering this formula to a subject orally.
Abstract: A system for removing low frequency disturbance signals from a control system output. The system includes a controller, a mixer, a feedback loop, and a low pass filter. The controller generates a control signal. The mixer is connected to the controller and receives the control signal from the controller. The feedback loop connects an output of said mixer to an input of the mixer. A low pass filter in the feedback loop allows low frequency disturbance signals in the control signal output from the mixer to pass through the feedback loop and to be added to the control signal by said mixer for handling by the controller.
Abstract: An assembly comprising an enclosure having a distal end wall and a proximal end wall connected to a pair of sidewalls such that the enclosure walls connect the bottom surface to a top surface having a user interface to define an enclosure interior. The compartment is positioned in the enclosure interior. A cover is included for coupling to the compartment situated in an opening in the bottom surface at a proximal end of the enclosure, such that the cover is configured for grasping by a user with at least one finger. The cover housing includes a cover surface, a pair of cover sidewalls, a proximal cover end wall and a distal cover end wall such that the cover walls extend from the cover surface to define a cover interior. The cover housing also has a mating surface at a base of the cover housing and defined by said walls, such that the mating surface is configured to mate with the bottom surface of the enclosure.

The water absorbent resin composition according to the second aspect includes a water absorbent resin containing a polyacrylic acid (salt)-based water absorbent resin as a main component, and at least two kinds of compounds selected from a group consisting of hexanoic acid (salt), ethyl butyrate, and 3-methyl-2-cyclopenten-1-one.
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for generating panorama images and an apparatus and method for tracking an object using the same. The apparatus for generating panorama images estimates regional motion vectors with respect to respective lower regions set in an image frame, determines a frame motion vector by using the regional motion vectors based on a codebook storing sets of normalized regional motion vectors corresponding to a camera's motion and then accumulates motion mediating variables computed with respect to respective continuous image frames to determine an overlapping region, and matches the overlapping regions to generate a panorama image.

Abstract: Systems and methods for optical sectioning microscopy with structured illumination are provided. A light source generates a light beam with a spatial pattern for successively illuminating a sample at each phase of a plurality of phases. A detector detects a first set of images of the sample at a first axial resolution and a first lateral resolution, each image being associated with a respective phase of the plurality of phases of the illumination. A processor processes the first set of images to generate an enhanced sectioned image of the sample. More specifically, the processor generates data representing a second set of images at a second axial resolution greater than the first axial resolution; and subsequently, performs spectral analysis on the data representing the second set of images to form data representing the enhanced sectioned image of the sample at a second lateral resolution greater than the first lateral resolution.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of predicting the risk of a patient for developing adverse drug reactions, particularly SJS or TEN. It was discovered that an HLA-B allele, HLA-B* 1502, is associated with SJS/TEN that is induced by a variety of drugs. The correlation with HLA-B* 1502 is most significant for carbamazepine-induced SJS/TEN, wherein all the patients tested have the HLA-B* 1502 allele. In addition, another HLA-B allele, HLA-B*5801, is particularly associated with SJS/TEN induced by allopurinol. Milder cutaneous reactions, such as maculopapular rash, erythema multiforme (EM), urticaria, and fixed drug eruption, are particularly associated with a third allele, HLA-B *4601. For any of the alleles, genetic markers (e.g., HLA markers, microsatellite, or single nucleotide polymorphism markers) located between DRB1 and HLA-A region of the specific HLA-B haplotype can also be used for the test.
