Abstract: A mediator for efficiently exchanging management data in a hierarchical management network for managing network elements of a data transport network partitions resources of the network elements among a plurality of management representations of the network elements and selectively forwards management data associated with respective management representations to a higher level of the hierarchy. The mediator modifies the management data so that the higher level (i.e. a northbound element management system or a network management system) receives the management data in a view consistent with the management representation of the network element. Client-based management representations may be created to permit clients to manage selected resources of a network element, and testing-based management representations may be created to facilitate concurrent testing of a network element.

Abstract: An application container-level transaction management system for managing transactions of an application on a wireless device. The system comprises a transaction manager for providing an interface to the application container for accessing methods for creation and execution of transactions in a hierarchical order. The transactions comprising correlative operations. The system further comprises a transaction stack for storing the transactions to be executed in an execution order according to the hierarchical order, the order of execution providing for at least one of rollback and completion of the correlative operations.

Abstract: It is provided mimotope receptors and inhibitors that employ peptide mimics that mimic the shape and function of natural receptors and ligands, thus providing synthetic binding sites for ligands and receptors. Receptor mimics can be attached to carriers, such as liposomes, to act as synthetic platelets, for example, by providing multiple binding sites for binding to other (natural or synthetic) platelets or to the endothelium. Synthetic platelets would have virtually limitless shelf life and would not require disease screening prior to transfusion, thereby providing a solution to the perpetual platelet shortages, as well as the safety and storage issues associated with natural blood platelets.

Abstract: The Rho family of GTPases regulates axon growth and regeneration. Inactivation of Rho with C3, a toxin from Clostridium botulinum, can stimulate regeneration and sprouting of injured axons. The present invention provides novel chimeric C3-like Rho antagonists. These new antagonists are a significant improvement over C3 compounds because they are 3-4 orders of magnitude more potent to stimulate axon growth on inhibitory substrates than recombinant C3. The invention further provides methods of treating a disease of the eye by administering the compounds of the invention.

A seat is mounted to the frame to support the user using the crankset in the pedaling actuation. Code books for transcoded documents received at a wireless mobile communication device are either retrieved from a memory on the device or requested from a data server. A wireless mobile communication device may also generate and transcode XML documents using a locally stored code book, a locally generated code book, or a code book received in response to a code book request.

Abstract: There is described a remote controller for a vehicle. A storage module stores control data to be transmitted to an in-vehicle Transceiver. A transceiver switch has a transmit mode to transmit a data signal to the in-vehicle transceiver and a receive mode to listen for an acknowledgement signal from the in-vehicle transceiver. A user interface has at least one translucent key switch to contact the transceiver switch and thereby activate transmission of the data signal. A light source is provided beneath the translucent key switch to illuminate the translucent key switch when the acknowledgement signal has been received. Control circuitry is adapted to receive a command from the translucent key switch when it is depressed, retrieve the control data from the storage module, and provide the control data to the transceiver switch for transmission as the data signal, and to cause the light source to illuminate when the acknowledgement signal has been received.
