  • Patent number: 5813560
Abstract: A method of seal locking together a preformed plastic molded top lid portion of a gas filler cap to a preformed plastic molded threaded base portion of a gas filler cap. The preformed top lid portion of the gas cap is locked to a stationary preformed threaded base portion of a gas filler cap by spin welding a lower extending tab of the top lid portion into a mating channel in the base portion together. The tab can be a circular rectangular tab having a step down inner edge and an indentation cutout on the lower surface of the lid portion between the tab and an exterior side wall of the lid portion, wherein the indentation cut-out provides a sacrificial break point upon impact and allows the exterior side wall of the top lid portion to break-off without breaking the locking seal between the tab and the channel for reasons of safety upon impact. The channel can be a circular with an angled inner wall.

  • Patent number: 5772405
Abstract: A water system includes a reciprocating pump operated by pedal power. The pumpstand includes a housing in which a foot pedal and a drive shaft rotate. An eccentric pin, rotating with the drive shaft, moves a connecting rod, which in turn causes a pushrod to oscillate vertically. The pushrod extends into a pressure-tight chamber formed above the rising main (wellpipe). A pumprod connected to the pushrod extends to move a conventional plunger through vertical oscillations. A flywheel is attached to the drive shaft, and a counterweight is mounted on the flywheel diametrically opposite the eccentric pin. The radial distance from the drive shaft to the counterweight can be adjusted. A discharge pipe extends from the pressure-tight chamber to an elevated or pressurized storage tank. A distribution pipe from the storage tank feeds water to a number of distribution points, such as faucets in houses.

  • Patent number: 5768764
Abstract: Device for removing bead wires from the side rims of vehicle tires. The device has a rectangular standing frame with a central portion having pivotable rods that support a tire. Opposite sides of the tire have main pull chains each rotating about sprockets and each chain having bar hooks attached thereon. An electric or gasoline motor rotates a drive shaft which has ends connected to reduction pulley and sprocket sets to each of the main chains so that the motor causes the main pull chains to rotate in opposite directions causing the hooks to pull bead wires from the tire. Sliding bars on opposite sides of the tire continuously center and control the removal of the bead wires as they are being pulled from the tire by the hook bars.
