Abstract: A catheter apparatus for insertion into a blood vessel includes a tubular catheter hub, having a side wall with a side wall portion formed of deformable material, and having a proximal end, a distal end, and a mechanism for inwardly collapsing the side wall portion to occlude the apparatus, resilient sealing material contained within the catheter hub having an axially oriented opening to permit fluid communication between the proximal end and the distal end of the catheter hub, for compressing to form a seal, closing the axially oriented opening and creating a seal, and a catheter extending from the distal end, substantially coaxially with the hub. A clamping mechanism is preferably provided for inwardly collapsing the side wall portion. The clamping mechanism preferably includes two spaced apart compression flanges extending outwardly from the side wall portion for gripping and pushing toward each other to compress the sealing material and occlude the apparatus.

Abstract: Exerciser for exercising arms and legs including an arrangement for raising one leg in stretching fashion in any desired direction. Once a leg is stretched, the leg can be connected to the weights to lift them. The machine can also be used for boxing exercises. According to the invention there is provided a leg and arm exerciser having a vertically slidable weight, a strap for attachment to at least one of an ankle or a hand, a pulley and rope connecting the weight with the strap for raising the weight with the leg or arm, and a frame for supporting the weight and the pulley and rope. There is also provided a knee strap connected to the frame by a rope guided by a slidable pulley for supporting the knee in a raised position.

Abstract: A window vent apparatus includes a window opening in a vehicle, the window opening having an opening edge, and an anchoring member adjacent the opening edge, a flexible window member having a perimeter edge and removably fastened with a fastener along the perimeter edge and around the opening edge, and at least two straps of different lengths, each having a window fastener at a first end for engaging the perimeter edge and an anchoring member fastener a second end for engaging the anchoring member. At least one of the straps is preferably elastic for creating tautness when installed on the window perimeter edge and the anchoring member, to hold the portion open.

Abstract: A filter for separating a fluid and particles immixed in the fluid, including a screen formed of a plurality of mutually attached screen panels, each screen panel defined by respective panel edges, and a molded filter frame including a plurality of molded frame members. The panel edges are molded into the molded frame members.

Abstract: A printed sheet transfer assembly for supporting and carrying sheets from one station in a printer apparatus to another station includes a transfer structure including a sheet conveying surface, and a flexible resilient material secured tightly over the conveying surface and having several ridges for engaging and conveying the sheets and for cushioning the sheets to prevent marring of printing ink. The material may include an ultra-soft cotton fabric. The conveying surface includes a matte finish. The transfer structure is optionally a transfer cylinder. The material may be secured over the conveying surface with hook and loop fasteners.

Abstract: A counter device attachment for a depressible spray dispenser for products such as medicine. The dispenser comprises a clip to fit about the side wall of the dispenser's casing, a foot-leg positioned beneath the dispenser and connected to the clip, and a counter actuated by the shaft which moves within a shaft housing, wherein a button on the counter is incremented each time the tank is depressed. The length of the vertical shaft is adjustable by controlling the rotation of the top end of the shaft which is mateably threaded to the bottom end of the shaft. The bottom end of the shaft can be threaded within the top end of the shaft or vice-versa. The clip can alternatively be curved or have a dimpled surface which may contact another dimple through a hole in the side of the dispenser. A second embodiment features the counter located beneath the dispenser which is also incremented each time the tank is depressed.

Abstract: An apparatus for sanding a work piece includes a motor, a motor housing, an essentially cylindrical sanding element assembly including a sanding element, a tubular sanding element assembly first support member extending from the motor housing to the sanding element assembly, and a drive train extending from the motor through the first support member to the sanding element assembly. The motor housing is preferably cylindrical and has a longitudinal axis, and the first support member extends essentially perpendicular to the housing longitudinal axis, and the cylindrical sanding element assembly also has a longitudinal axis which is essentially parallel to the housing longitudinal axis.

Abstract: An apparatus for scooping up and depositing a golf ball on a permanent golf range tee includes a ball retaining platform member having an upper surface and a lower surface, and having an edge including a ball-retaining notch for receiving and retaining a golf ball, a tee locating member joined to the platform member by a hinge or sliding posts for permitting the tee locating member and the platform member to move toward each other and away from each other to a predetermined extent while remaining structurally connected, so that the tee locating member may be slidably spaced below the lower surface, the tee locating member having an edge with a tee-receiving notch, and an elongate handle member having a first end and a second end and secured to the platform member at the first end.

Abstract: Portable apparatus is provided for storing and cleaning pacifiers, including a vessel having a vessel opening for containing cleaning fluid, a pacifier storage and cleaner rack comprising a raised platform having a platform edge and sized to fit within the vessel, the platform having opening for permitting the passage of the cleaning fluid through the platform and alternatively with a through-hole with a diameter sized smaller than the pacifier's base with the through-hole preferably sized at approximately the same diameter as bulb portion, and optional support member connected to the platform adjacent to the platform edge for lifting the platform. The apparatus preferably includes a vessel lid having an outer lid edge, the vessel lid being connected to the support member adjacent to the outer lid edge. The apparatus also preferably includes a lid engaging mechanism for removably securing the lid over the vessel opening.

Abstract: A golf practice device for attachment to a golf club having a club head and a shaft, includes a swing speed-sensing device and a direction indicating device attached to the shaft. The swing direction indicating device is coupled to the swing speed-sensing device for indicating a swing speed set to given speed value. A light emitter provided in the swing speed indicating device is activated by different inertial masses and indicates with a light trace of a visible light beam directed at the golf player's eyes a swing speed reaching the given speed value, and the direction of the club head compared with a line on the ground. Two light emitters positioned in line with the swing direction can be provided to indicate if the club head is swung squarely in the swing direction.

Abstract: According to the invention, there is provided a continuous envelope and letter arrangement for printing letters and envelope address information on a continuous paper web having a forward side for receiving printing and a back side, lateral edge strips with sprocket holes on the paper web, alternating envelope and letter panels disposed along the paper web, and tear-off lines disposed transversely between the edge strips for separating the envelope and letter panels, and adhesive means on the envelope panels for sealing the envelopes. According to a further feature, the continuous envelope and letter arrangement includes lateral tear-off lines on the paper web for separating the edge strips from the paper web, and further, a center crease line on the envelope panel, disposed transversely between the edge strips for dividing the envelope panels into two substantially equal size half panels, the half panels respectively forming a front and a back side of the envelope.

Abstract: An apparatus for exercising muscles of the hand, wrist and forearm, includes a shaft having a longitudinal axis, a flexible cord connected to the shaft and a weight member suspended from the flexible cord, so that a user can grasp and rotate the shaft about the longitudinal axis while positioning the shaft substantially horizontally to wrap and unwrap the cord around the shaft and thereby raise and lower the weight member.

Abstract: According to the invention there is provided a hydraulic brake coupled to a rotary shaft. It includes a hydraulic pump connected to the shaft, the pump having a pump inlet, and a pump outlet, a hydraulic loop having an inlet part connected to the pump outlet and an outlet part connected to the pump inlet, a flow control device positioned in the hydraulic loop between the inlet part and the outlet part for controlling flow of hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic loop, and a brake actuator connected to the flow control device for reducing the flow of hydraulic fluid in response to operation of the brake actuator. The pump is advantageously a gearwheel pump, and may include a gearwheel housing having one side formed as a flow-control plate.

Abstract: According to the invention there is provided a remote ballast circuit assembly comprising at least one ballast circuit; a housing having a top panel, an optional perforated bottom panel, two lateral side panels and a back panel, the panels defining a housing interior; the interior being divided into an upper chamber and a lower chamber, the upper chamber having exterior vent openings; at least one ballast coil in the ballast circuit disposed in the upper chamber; at least one resonating capacitor connected with the ballast coil disposed in the lower chamber; primary power connecting means for connecting primary power to the ballast circuit; and load connecting means for connecting a load to the ballast circuit. According to a further feature, the remote ballast circuit assembly according to the invention includes a hinged door panel hingedly attached to the housing for providing access to the housing interior.
