  • Patent number: 6943714
Abstract: A method and apparatus for obtaining power computation parameters is presented. Accurate computation of power requires multiplying voltage and current at the same instant of time and integrating the results over time. The present invention provides a method of using a single Analog to Digital Converter to convert both voltage and current for all the phases of any electrical system and then digitally compensating for the phase error caused by the non-simultaneous sampling of the current and voltage signals. The compensating filter could be implemented as a simple interpolator, an all-pass filter, or a combination of both. A single multiplexer is used to select which signal is processed by the Analog to Digital Converter. By scheduling and converting the voltage and analog signals one at a time, potential for crosstalk is significantly reduced, power requirement is reduced, and die size requirement is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6941966
Abstract: A device includes a housing fixed to an upper wall of a fuel tank, and having a communication opening in communication with a canister, a float valve received within the housing and floating on a fuel, and the float valve moving upward and downward so as to close and open the communication opening, and a tubular member communicating with the housing, and extending downwardly from the housing into the interior of the fuel tank. The device has through holes of a small diameter which are disposed near an upper wall of the fuel tank, and when the liquid level of the fuel in the fuel tank reaches the lower end opening of the tubular member, a pressure within the fuel tank increases, whereby the filling-up of the fuel tank is detected. When the liquid level of the fuel abnormally rises, the float valve closes the communication opening.

  • Patent number: 6942245
Abstract: A knee protecting airbag device (M1), wherein an airbag (26) covers the substantial lower surface (9a) of a column cover (9) protruded to a driver side. Therefore, the airbag is minimized in the capacity without deteriorating the protection of the knee of the driver. As a result, it is possible to shorten the time period required for the airbag to complete the expansion and inflation. The airbag has a generally plate shape capable of covering at least the lower surface of the column cover when it completes the inflation. Even if the knee of the driver comes close to the column cover when the driver depresses a brake pedal or the like, the airbag being expanded and inflated is smoothly arranged in a narrow space between the knee of the driver and the column cover lower surface without interfering with the knee of the driver.
