  • Patent number: 6899018
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fast-cook pasta with automatic loading for variable sized portions. An amount of bulk product is isolated in a variable sized cavity. The contents of the cavity is discharged by gravity assisted mechanisms into a cooking chamber. The cooking chamber is pressurizable and uses preheated water. After the cooking period has ended, the cooking chamber is depressurized and the cooked pasta is transferred to a postcooker via a cooker exit valve. Heat energy present in vapor created by depressurization of the cooker is used to preheat the water.

  • Patent number: 6879428
Abstract: A method of capturing images using a laser scanner equipped with a 2D micro actuator. The 2D micro actuator allows for laser beam location without the use of additional components dedicated to determining beam location. The 2D micro actuator is used to stabilize the positioning function of the spot in the scene. The micro actuator is a 1D micro actuator suspended within a second framework by two torsion bars and two pairs of orthogonal additional electrodes. The image is scanned, a precise rectangle of the character sensing field is generated and the image is created by keeping a substantially constant pitch.

  • Patent number: 6872310
Abstract: In a particularly noise-free and vibration-free operating precoated filter for filtering for example cooling lubricating flowing media, a filter candle surrounding a riser channel is mounted by means of a riser tube in a separating plate in an axially moveable manner. A filter cake adhering to the outside of the filter candle is loosened in such a manner that for example a disk-shaped rotary body comprises a shoulder between the track end and the track start along its track. As soon as a head end piece connected to the riser tube and moveable in an axial manner against the force of a spring is released from the rotating track end, the stored force of the spring accelerates the filter candle, so that the filter cake adhering to the filter candles is loosened by the acceleration of the filter candle and the impact pulse when a dampening ring arranged between the filter candle and the separating plate abuts the separating plate.

  • Patent number: 6869203
Abstract: A LED symbol signal with LEDs arrayed to correspond to a desired symbol. Light from the LEDs is directed onto corresponding optical segments of a multiple collimating zone element and directed into a forward direction/distribution. A mask defines the desired symbol. The optical segments and or a diffusion surface on the cover or multiple collimating zone element(s) diffuses the display aspect, obscuring the individual LEDs. A diameter of the optical features of the diffusion surface is smaller than a diameter of the optical segments. The LED symbol signal may be configured for retrofitting into an incandescent lamp signal housing.
