Abstract: A personal watercraft has a hull and sub-deck (HSD) assembly. A deck is disposed above the sub-deck. A first suspension member has a first end pivotally connected to the deck and a second end disposed rearwardly and downwardly of the first end pivotally connected to the HSD assembly. A second suspension member, disposed rearwardly of the first suspension member, has a first end pivotally connected to the deck and a second end disposed rearwardly and downwardly of the first end pivotally connected to the HSD assembly. The first and second suspension members each have a fixed length. A suspension element is connected between any two of: the deck, the HSD assembly, and one of the suspension members. The HSD assembly is moveable relative to the deck between a first position and a second position that is upward and rearward of the first position. A watercraft suspension geometry is also disclosed.
Abstract: The present invention is that of a solar energy system that uses a light-guide solar panel (LGSP) to trap light inside a dielectric or other transparent panel and propagates the light to one of the panel edges for harvesting by a solar energy collector such as a photovoltaic cell. This allows for very thin modules whose thickness is comparable to the height of the solar energy collector. This eliminates eliminating the depth requirements inherent in traditional concentrated photovoltaic solar energy systems.
Abstract: The invention provides an electrochemical generator having a retaining apparatus for maintaining a stack of electrochemical cells in a state of compression. The electrochemical generator comprises an assembly of electrochemical cells comprising a plurality of stacked electrochemical cells and a retaining apparatus comprising holding members positioned at each extremity of the assembly and anchoring devices maintaining the holding members at a predetermined distance from one another thereby maintaining the assembly under a state of compression.
Abstract: A personal watercraft has a hull and a deck. The deck includes a pedestal, two gunnels, two footrests, and a rear platform. A straddle-type seat is disposed on the pedestal. A steering assembly is disposed at least in part forwardly of the seat. An engine is supported by the hull. A propulsion system is connected to the hull and is operatively connected to the engine. A ballast tank is disposed at least in part on the rear platform. The ballast tank includes a rigid ballast tank body, and at least two apertures in the ballast tank body. A connector releasably connects the ballast tank to one of the hull and the deck. A pump fluidly communicates with one of the at least two apertures in the ballast tank body. A ballast tank having a generally L-shaped rigid ballast tank body is also disclosed.

Abstract: A personal watercraft is disclosed, having a hull and sub-deck (HSD) assembly with left and right gunnels. A deck is disposed above the sub-deck. The left and right lateral edges of the deck are disposed vertically at least as low as the upper end of the left and right gunnels. The left lateral edge and the left gunnel define a left gap therebetween. The right lateral edge and the right gunnel define a right gap therebetween. A left seal member extends laterally outwardly from the left lateral edge. The left seal member extends into the left gap generally toward the left gunnel. A right seal member extends laterally outwardly from the right lateral edge. The right seal member extends into the right gap generally toward the right gunnel.

Abstract: A wind turbine engine comprising rotor blades disposed within an outer casing and a half-spherical head located in front of the rotor blades and blocking the inner 50% of the radius of the rotor blades, the casing and head creating an acceleration chamber wherein incoming wind is speeded up and redirected around the head, and the accelerated wind then rotates the wind turbine rotor blades to generate power.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine has cylinder head assembly. First and second cams are disposed on a camshaft for rotation therewith. A first cam follower has a first end journaled on a cam follower shaft and a second end abutting an end of a first valve. A second cam follower has a first end journaled on the cam follower shaft and a second end abutting an end of a second valve. A spacer is disposed at least partially around the cam follower shaft. The spacer is disposed between the cam followers such that the first cam follower is disposed between the spacer and a camshaft support and the second cam follower is disposed between the spacer and another camshaft support. A cylinder head assembly, a method of accessing the valves, and embodiments providing for the supply of lubricant to the cam followers are also disclosed.
Abstract: A railway truck has a frame, and two wheel-sets operatively connected to the frame. Each wheel-set includes a corresponding axle, and two wheels disposed on the axle. A first steering lever is pivotally connected to the first end portion of the first axle about a first pivot axis and to the frame about a second pivot axis. A second steering lever is pivotally connected to the second end portion of the first axle about a third pivot axis and to the frame about a fourth pivot axis. A first line passing through the first and second pivot axes crosses a second line passing through the third and fourth pivot axes at less than a predetermined distance from a vertical centerline of the truck when the first and second axles are parallel. A railcar including the truck is also provided.
