Abstract: A method of displacing a pumping assembly. In a first step, a first current is applied in a first direction through a coil assembly to displace a drive assembly from an initial position to cause a first pumping motion. Then, the drive assembly is returned to the initial position to cause a second pumping motion. At some point nearing the end of the second pumping motion, a second current is applied in the first direction through the coil assembly to decelerate the drive assembly before it reaches the initial position. A third current may be applied in a second direction through the coil assembly to cause or assist a return of the drive assembly to the initial position. An apparatus capable of carrying out the method is also disclosed.

Abstract: A family of snowmobiles having different tunnel widths is disclosed. A snowmobile having spacers between the tunnel and the sides of the engine compartment and a method of manufacturing such a snowmobile are also disclosed. A snowmobile having a countershaft which is disposed rearwardly of the engine, vertically higher than the air intake opening, and forwardly of the air intake controller is also disclosed.
Abstract: A personal watercraft is disclosed, having a straddle-type seat disposed on a deck. The seat has a seat profile. A storage compartment is disposed rearwardly of the seat. A rear platform is pivotally connected to a rear portion of the watercraft. The rear platform is pivotable between a raised position and a lowered position. The rear platform permits access to the storage compartment when in the raised position, and sealingly closes the storage compartment when in the lowered position. The rear platform is lower than the seat profile when the rear platform is in the lowered position. A personal watercraft having left and right storage compartments and a rear channel defined therebetween, in which the rear platform extends laterally above the rear channel when in the lowered position is also disclosed. A personal watercraft with a rear platform having heel rests with angled portions is also disclosed.

Abstract: A marine outboard engine for a watercraft is disclosed. The marine outboard engine features a padded section adapted to provide a padded area for carrying the outboard engine over the shoulder of a person.
Abstract: A marine outboard engine is disclosed which comprises a drive unit, a tilt/trim/steering subsystem and a stern bracket adapted for connection to an associated watercraft. The tilt/trim/steering subsystem connects the drive unit to the stern bracket and comprises a first rotary actuator carrying the drive unit for pivotal movement about a steering axis that extends generally vertically, and a second rotary actuator connected to the first rotary actuator and supporting the first rotary actuator and the drive unit for pivotal movement about a tilt/trim axis that extends generally horizontally.

Abstract: A wind powered turbine engine comprising an internalized containment and control chamber, intake enhancement, vacuum induction exhaust port and horizontally rotating rotor The turbine functions similarly to a steam or gas turbine engine. The radius of the control chamber decreases progressively as it curves around the periphery of the turbine rotor in the manner of a spiral.
Abstract: An horizontal axis wind turbine having a rotor (3) with a frontal projection comprising a stationary spherical head (1) upstream of its multibladed turbine rotor (3) displaces and increases the speed of wind addressed over 70% of the total frontal area. A series of thin airfoils (12) radially and evenly placed on said spherical head (1) to direct wind towards the turbine short blades (4).
Abstract: An endless belt system for a vehicle having a negative trail steering geometry is provided. The endless belt system replaces the wheels that steer a vehicle, particularly an all-terrain vehicle, to provide increased steerability and floatation over soft terrain.
Abstract: A method of controlling a watercraft comprises actuating a lever, controlling a speed of rotation of an engine to be at or below a reverse gate actuation speed in response to the actuation of the lever, moving the reverse gate in response to the actuation of the lever without further driver intervention once the speed of rotation of the engine is at or below the reverse gate actuation speed, and controlling the speed of rotation of the engine in order to decelerate the watercraft in response to the actuation of the lever and the reverse gate moving without further driver intervention. A watercraft and a method of controlling the watercraft based at least in part on an angle of a helm assembly are also disclosed.

Abstract: A snowmobile footrest has a top surface, a first foot gripping element extending upwardly and forwardly from the top surface, and a second foot gripping element extending upwardly and rearwardly from the top surface. A snowmobile frame and a snowmobile having the footrest are also disclosed.
