Abstract: A P channel vertical conduction Rad Hard MOSFET has a plurality of closely spaced base strips which have respective sources to form invertible surface channels with the opposite sides of each of the stripes. A non-DMOS late gate oxide and overlying conductive polysilicon gate are formed after the source and base regions have been diffused. The base stripes are spaced by about 0.6 microns, and the polysilicon gate stripes are about 3.2 microns wide. A P type enhancement region is implanted through spaced narrow windows early in the process and are located in the JFET common conduction region which is later formed by and between the spaced base stripes. The device is a high voltage (greater than 25 volts) P channel device with very low gate capacitance and very low on resistance.

Abstract: Drain masts of commercial aircraft need to be heated in order to prevent freezing caused by the low outside temperatures when the aircraft travels at a corresponding altitude. An exemplary embodiment described in the application pertains to a drain system for an aircraft that can be used for draining liquids or gases from the aircraft or for drawing air into the aircraft. In this case, the liquids or gases are heated by means of a coolant that receives its thermal energy from a thermal or electrochemical process being carried out on board the aircraft. Consequently, the waste heat produced by the thermal or electrochemical process being carried out on board the aircraft, for example, a fuel cell process, can be carried off outboard via the drain system. In addition, the coolant can be advantageously utilized for cooling the thermal or electrochemical process.

The circulating fluidized bed boiler has a furnace which combusts a fuel which is fluidized together with a bed material, a cyclone dust collector into which an flue gas which is generated by the combustion in the furnace is introduced and which catches particles in the flue gas, a separation loop, in a seal box, which separates corrosive components from the particles so as not to introduce the corrosive components to the external heat exchanger which is arranged downstream of the seal box.

Abstract: The present paint brush holder is for the purpose of resting a paint brush over a paint container, with the paint brush bristles suspended over the inner portion of the open paint container. The paint brush holder when attached to the rim of a paint container, allows the user to rest the paint brush in the paint brush holder and allows the principle of inertia of the paint brush, acting on two points to create a grip on the paint brush handle. Further points of the paint brush holder restrict lateral movement of the paint brush. Abstract: A power supply for a two-wire load control device supplies power to a microprocessor, which in turn controls the power supply. The power supply comprises an energy storage element, e.g., a capacitor, for producing a DC voltage for powering the microprocessor. Abstract: In a power supply apparatus in which a source of a MOSFET is connected to a node of a rectifier diode and a choke coil through a resonance coil, a series circuit including a capacitor and a MOSFET is connected to a series circuit including the resonance coil and the rectifier diode, and the MOSFET and the MOSFET are driven by PWM control so that the MOSFET and the MOSFET are alternately turned on with a period in which both MOSFETs are turned off, a resistor is connected in parallel with the capacitor, and optionally another diode is connected in series with the resistor.
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for effectively heating a first die stacked above a second die attached onto a substrate during wire bonding conducted on the first die. A gas outlet positionable adjacent to the first die is configured to project a hot gas onto bond pads of the first die for bringing the bond pads to a desired bonding temperature, thereby rapidly heating the first die for effective wire bonding.

Abstract: Expression systems are disclosed for the direct expression of peptide products into the culture media where genetically engineered host cells are grown. High yield was achieved with a special selection of hosts, and/or fermentation processes which include careful control of cell growth rate, and use of an inducer during growth phase. Special universal cloning vectors are provided for the preparation of expression vectors which include control regions having multiple promoters linked operably with coding regions encoding a signal peptide upstream from a coding region encoding the peptide of interest. Multiple transcription cassettes are also used to increase yield. The production of amidated peptides using the expression systems is also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a sliding mechanism apparatus used for slidably opening and closing a slider-type cellular phone. A guide member and a slider member are engaged with each other so as to enable to slide relative to each other. The end of one arm of a first torsion spring is connected to the slider member near the left edge thereof. The end of the other arm thereof is coupled to the right half area of the guide member. The end of one arm of a second torsion spring is connected to the slider member near the right edge thereof. The end of the other arm thereof is coupled to the left half area of the guide member. From the expanded original state of the first and second torsion springs, if an external force is exerted on the slider member or the guide member, the torsion springs are compressed into an acute angle and then spread again by means of the elastic force thereof. Abstract: To provide a turbo decoding method capable of significantly improving efficiency of a determination as to whether or not to end decoding. If the decoding by a turbo decoder is started, a soft decision value of an element decoder is derived, and an ECR of a current frame is estimated from the soft decision value by an ECR criterion deriving portion. If determined to be an end as a result of an end determination of the decoding by the turbo decoder from a result of comparison with a last ECR value and the maximum number of times of repetition of decoding, a hard decision result and a decoding result are outputted, and if not determined to be the end, the number of times of repetition is counted up so as to repeat the above process.
