  • Patent number: 6499810
Abstract: A locking quick-release bike hub skewer for securely engaging an axle of a bike includes a security lock for preventing theft. A cam member is housed within a quick-release skewer housing and is completely restrained from rotation via a tri-tumbler locking apparatus. The cam member is arranged in a combination lock type design and, therefore, cannot be rotated. In dialing in a proper lock combination, a series of locking pins which would otherwise prevent rotation of the cam about the bike's axle are aligned such that the cam member is allowed to freely spin. A pivoting lever is also provided not only for aiding in compressing the cam member against the axle, but also for removing compression of the cam member against the axle which aids in the removal of the quick-release hub once a proper lock combination has been dialed.

  • Patent number: 6461256
Abstract: A basketball shooting training device is provided for training a player to use the proper upper torso alignment and relative leg position when shooting a basketball by maintaining the shooter's back and head, from buttocks to the top of the head in vertical alignment, at a 90° angle with respect to the floor. Also, the invention forces the use of the legs in the set shot for developing novice players' skills. The support rod removably attaches around the forehead via an elastic, adjustable forehead strap attached to an upper end of the rod. The rod continues down the neck and spine, and concludes at the buttocks region. A feet immobilizing apparatus is attached at a lower end of the support rod so as to maintain a player's feet in proper position during consecutive basketball shots.

  • Patent number: 6427635
Abstract: A vehicle safety restraint for canines is provided for safely securing a canine in a vehicle. The vehicle safety restraint for canines has an upper restraint designed to be positioned longitudinally over the canine's back during use. A lower restraint is designed to be positioned longitudinally against the canine's stomach during use. A neck strap is bifurcated and thus provides a collar throughwhich the canine's head and neck pass. A harness strap has a length which allows for ample canine mobility, while still resulting in sufficient confined boundaries for effectively restraining the canine in the event of a sudden stop or impact from an accident. A leash strap is looped around a prior fastened vehicle seat belt having been tightly adjusted against a vehicle seat so as to anchor the vehicle safety restraint for canines.
