Abstract: A curing light system useful for curing light activated composite materials is disclosed. Various configurations of light emitting semiconductor chips and heat sinks are disclosed, as well as various structures and methods for driving, controlling and using them.
Abstract: Grippable cushioning devices which may be used as cushions, squeezables, toys, throwable toys, and novelty items are disclosed. Some of those devices include holes therein which may provide a relief function in that the holes may buckle or collapse when squeezed. The holes may be generally parallel longitudinal columns which may permit air flow therethrough when the grippable cushioning device is thrown.
Abstract: Toys and balls are disclosed having a skin and a core of somewhat dissimilar materials. The skin and core are of different colors. When the toy is squeezed, the non-liquid deformable core presses against at least a portion of the skin, making the skin thin at that point and permitting the color of the core to show through, creating the appearance of a color change of the toy.
Abstract: Methods for using biaxially stretched polyester as a photo-receptive layer for dye sublimation printing are disclosed. Two-sided sublimation printing on polyester is achieved.
Abstract: A restraining apparatus and method for limiting motion on the macro and micro scale during MRI and CT scans, by providing a custom fit, while also improving patient comfort. The restraining apparatus includes a disposable component, including castable and expandable sleeves used to fix the patient into a coil. The castable sleeve encircles the limb of a patient, and is filled with a quickly casting material. The cast material is patient compatible and preferably designed to augment imaging. The resulting cast is MRI compatible, safe and rapid setting, which will decrease the time to set up a patient for scanning, thereby further improving MRI productivity. The expandable sleeve encircles the castable sleeve and is inflatable such that the expandable sleeve conforms to the inner dimensions of a particular MRI coil, CT scanner, or other imaging device. Alternatively, the apparatus includes a castable sleeve for casting around a flex/wrap or surface coil.

Abstract: Cushions and cushion elements with non-intersecting-columnar elastomeric members exhibiting compression instability are disclosed. The cushions and cushion elements may be made from gelatinous elastomer materials. The cushions and cushion elements have application in a variety of fields, including foot care products, seat cushions, mattresses and mattress overlays for consumer and medical applications, carry straps, sports injury prevention, orthopedics, vibration dampeners for electrical and electronic equipment, shock absorbers and others.
Abstract: A dual-axis RAID system includes a plurality of X-axis ordinal series of disks, configured to store parity data and a tape drive, and a Y-axis ordinal series of parity disks. The Y-axis series is smaller than the X-axis series, because the X-axis series contains an extra disk configured as a segment journal disk. The RAID system communicates with clients on a network a network via an SCI network interface.
Abstract: Jelly pens are disclosed that may use a unitary elongate pen body made from an elastomer gel, the pen body having a longitudinal bore for insertion of an ink reservoir and writing tip therein. The use of elastomer gel for the entire pen body may provide a more desirable gripping surface on the pen and can provide a pen with a soft, floppy feel during use.
