Abstract: A grout slurry pumping system, and a grout slurry control box and associated tools are described. Methods of using the pumping system and control box are also described. The pumping system and control box may be used separately or together. The pumping system maintains a grout slurry of desired consistency and can provide it through a hose to remote locations. The control box operates to apply grout to a work surface in desired quantities and in desired amounts according to a control valve.
Abstract: A semiconductor light source for illuminating a physical space has been invented. In various embodiments of the invention, a semiconductor such as and LED chip, laser chip, LED chip array, laser array, an array of chips, or a VCSEL chip is mounted on a heat sink. The heat sink may have multiple panels for mounting chips in various orientations. The chips may be mounted directly to a primary heat sink which is in turn mounted to a multi-panel secondary heat sink. A TE cooler and air circulation may be provided to enhance heat dissipation. An AC/DC converter may be included in the light source fitting.
Abstract: Bicycle frame components without laps made by a method comprising;
shaping a fluid-removable core in the general form of the component,
placing a flexible inflatable bladder around the core,
wrapping over the assembly of core and bladder at least one ply of fiber impregnated with a curable resin,
forming a cured part by inflating the bladder while the assembly of core, bladder, and impregnated fiber is in a mold to force the plies against the inner surfaces of the mold, such that compaction of the fiber against the mold is predominantly from the bladder inflation and not from the core, and heating to cure the resin to form a cured part,
removing the bladder and the fluid-removable core from the interior of the cured part by disintegrating the fluid-removable core with a fluid sufficient to allow removal of the core and the bladder.

Abstract: A method of rough shaping a prosthetic joint component that includes a generally spherical polycrystalline diamond compact by electric discharge machining is disclosed. The discharge machining electrode roughens a polycrystalline diamond compact sphere while the electrode and the sphere are rotating about different axes. By controlling the amount of discharge current, the depth and amount of the heat affected zone can be minimized. In the case of a polycrystalline diamond compact, the heat affected zone can be kept to about 3 to 5 microns in depth and is easily removable by grinding and polishing.

Abstract: A label for a container is disclosed as including a front side and a back side. The front side has front label information thereon for communicating information to a user. The back side includes a first end and a second end and has an adhesive thereon proximate the first end such that a part of the label is substantially permanently attached to the container. The back side also has a removably-attaching surface proximate the second end. Back side label information is on the back side for communicating information to the user. The removably-attaching surface enables the label to be removably attached to the container such that the user may view the back side label information by peeling back part of the label from the container to reveal the back side label information. Further, the user may return the label to wrap around the container such that the back side label information is not visible by pressing the other part against the container.
Abstract: A regional aircraft boarding pier can be provided at an airport concourse in place of one or two conventional large aircraft boarding bridges. The regional aircraft boarding pier includes a primary passenger bridge between the airport concourse and a hub. A number of secondary passenger bridges extend from the hub to individual regional aircraft. In this way, an equivalent number of passenger seats can be serviced as between large and regional aircraft, and large and regional aircraft can be docked at a common airport terminal. Consequently, passengers can more efficiently and conveniently transfer between connecting flights that are on both large and regional aircraft. The hub of the boarding pier can take a number of configurations to optimally use the space available. The hub can also support large aircraft boarding bridges as well as the secondary passenger bridges docked to smaller, regional aircraft.
Abstract: An improved wakeboard fin unit provides two fins extending from a base portion at an acute angle to each other. A ridge on the base portion runs between the two fins to divert water flow into the fins. The two-fin fin unit provides greater stability for the wakeboard during use and thereby enhances performance.
