  • Patent number: 8313781
Abstract: A composition for promoting plant growth includes sulfur, soybean oil, and an emulsifier of a fatty acid and a saponifying aqueous base together forming an emulsion, or a soap or a detergent acting as an emulsifier. Regardless of the form of the emulsifier, a composition as applied to vegetation which has a basic pH of between 7.5 and 11 appears to improve efficacy. Specific aqueous compositions as applied for promoting plant growth include 0.05 to 2 total weight percent sulfur, 0.05 to 2 total weight percent soybean oil, 0.05 to 2 total weight percent fatty acid and an aqueous base present to provide a basic pH of between 7.5 and 11. A concentrate for the composition which upon dilution with water is well suited for spraying and promotion of plant growth is provided. Another specific composition for promoting plant growth consists of 0.05 to 2 total weight percent sulfur, 0.05 to 2 total weight percent soybean oil, an aqueous base present to yield an as applied pH of 7.

  • Patent number: 8304744
Abstract: A closed drift ion source is provided, having an anode that serves as both the center magnetic pole and as the electrical anode. The anode has an insulating material cap that produces a closed drift region to further increase the electrical impedance of the source. The ion source can be configured as a round, conventional ion source for space thruster applications or as a long, linear ion source for uniformly treating large area substrates. A particularly useful implementation uses the present invention as an anode for a magnetron sputter process.

  • Patent number: 8257136
Abstract: A toy is provided that has a dynamo for converting manual movement into an electrical charge for the dynamo located within a housing. A miniature vehicle is induced to locomote through receipt of the electrical charge. A dock is provided for selectively creating an electrical coupling of the vehicle to the dynamo to transfer the electrical charge and decoupling to allow the vehicle to locomote. A charge storage device and an electrical motor in the vehicle allow for prolonged vehicle locomotion separate from the charge transfer by the dynamo. A toy is also provided that has a dynamo for converting manual movement into an electrical charge, the dynamo located within a housing. The dynamo transfers an electrical charge to a wheeled miniature vehicle through an electrically conductive circuit about which the vehicle travels. Additional amusement functions of LED light output or speaker auditory output are optionally provided.

  • Patent number: 8234211
Abstract: A process of digital electronic lien management is provided. Form data is stored in a first electronic database. A user adds lien input data in a second electronic database related to a specific construction lien project. A user then generates at least one lien form through insertion of the lien input data into the form data. The resultant form is transmitted to a recipient, who digitally modifies the form to create a modified version and electronically reconveys the modified version to the user.
