Abstract: A process for enhancing an illusion created by a mirror labyrinth containing a series of interreflective mirrors includes the placement of a rotatable mirrored stile rotating about a vertical axis within the mirror labyrinth to interact with the series of interreflective mirrors to enhance the illusion created by the mirror labyrinth. The rotatable mirrored stile preferably has a motor drive mechanism mountable to a floor or ceiling of a mirror maze. A polygonal post is mounted to the drive mechanism to define a rotational axis with the post defining from two to eight rotationally degenerate faces. At least one of the rotationally degenerate faces is mirrored.

Abstract: A process for inhibiting symptoms of a subject with celiac disease is provided that includes administration of monoclonal-, or polyclonal-, monomeric, dimeric, or polymeric IgA. Joining secretory component to the IgA limits oral administration degradation. Formulating agents are mixed with the monomeric, dimeric, or polymeric IgA to yield a dosing form of a capsule, tablet, and a suppository. The therapeutic is amenable to enrobement directly through microencapsulation or the dosing form is coated with an enteric coating.

Abstract: An audio player plush includes a battery, digital memory, speaker in electrical communication with the digital memory, and a set of controls modulating speaker output associated with the digital memory. A cover bounds the digital memory and is formed of a plush fabric. A fill material within the plush fabric provides a soft surface to the audio player. A pocket is provided within the cover that is selectively closable and encompasses a digital connector for coupling the digital memory to a computer or other source of digital audio files for downloading of such files into the digital memory. When not in use, the digital connector is selectively closed within the pocket. An indicator light emitting light from the cover provides a user with a visual signal indicative of the activation state of the digital memory.

The human cognizable image optionally being stored in a computer memory in combination with personal user information, the memory to be accessed to verify user authorization.

Abstract: An atomic scale electroconductivity device with electrostatic regulation is provided that includes a perturbing species having a localized electronic charge ol a dangling bond. A sensing species having an electronic conductivity is placed in proximity to the perturbing species at a distance sufficient to induce a change in the electronic conductivity associated with the localized electronic charge. Electronics are provided to measure the conductivity via the sensing species. The dangling bond functions as a single atom gate electrode.

Abstract: An animal litter is provided that includes a sorbent granule composed of granule particulate that is able to pass ?20 screen sieve and a binder such that greater than 90% of said granules have a size of between ?5 and +60 screen sieve. The granule has an oil coating thereon. An animal litter is produced by milling sorbent material to a particulate size such that greater than 90% by weight of said particulate is ?20 screen sieve size or finer. The sorbent material is then agglomerated to the milled particulate to a granule size of between ?5 and +60 screen sieve with a binder. The granule is then coated with an oil. Extrusion represents a preferred mode of agglomeration.

Abstract: A drive unit to control the peak pressure of air for the inflation of a left ventricular assist system is disclosed. The control of the peak pressure can address the problem of the “kick” experienced by patients when the peak inflation pressure reaches approximately 200 mm Hg. The peak pressure of the air released for the inflation cycle of the system is reduced either by the reduction of the inner diameter of the interconnect line running from the compression tank to the valve manifold or the use of a multi-valve manifold with independently controlled valves and an electronic controller to selectively open and close the valves of the manifold. Either technique, whether used alone or in combination, reduces the peak pressure of the air released for the inflation cycle to below the levels associated with the “kick,” while still meeting the operating specifications to properly inflate and deflate the system's blood pump.

Abstract: A showerhead for personal hygiene is provided that includes a spray face in fluid communication with a cavity by way of a plurality of nozzle apertures. The cavity receives water from a water supply. A spray selector controls fluid flow between the cavity and the nozzle apertures. A battery-electric motor or a kinetic energy storing spring is provided as a power supply for an actuator that provides mechanical communication between the power supply and the selector to move the selector and thereby alter the fluid spray pattern from the spray face. A user interface provides a user with selective control over movement of the actuator and the movement of the selector to sequentially provide multiple spray patterns from the spray face without intermediate manual intervention between the multiple spray patterns emitted from the spray face.

Abstract: A composition for treating a subject is provided. The composition includes antigen specific dimeric secretory IgA and pentameric IgM therapeutic. A process for manufacturing a medicament for the treatment of C. difficile associated disease in a human is also provided that the modification of antigen specific dimeric secretory IgA and pentameric IgM with secretory component to form a antigen specific dimeric secretory IgA and pentameric secretory IgM therapeutic. The antigen specific dimeric secretory IgA and the pentameric secretory IgM therapeutic is then mixed with formulating agents to create a capsule, tablet, liquid or suppository dosing form. The therapeutic is amenable to enrobement directly through microencapsulation or the dosing form is coated with an enteric coating. A method of C. difficile treatment with the therapeutic is also provided that is amenable to supplementation with concurrent or prior antibiotic administration.

Abstract: A water-dispersible particle for delivery of fertilizer to a plant is disclosed. After delivery wetting of the particles causes particle dispersion so as to prevent secondary pick up to the particles. Methods for making and using the water-dispersible particle are described.

Abstract: A laminar electrical connector is provided that is formed from multiple superimposed strips of conductive material that form a stack having at least two ends. A second conductive material is used to join adjacent superimposed strips. The resultant connector has ends that are adapted to engage electrical terminals and provide an electrical communication therebetween. The resultant connector lacks a sheath on the ends or a grommet extending through the stack. Such a sheath or grommet limits the operative lifetime of the resulting connector and also creates current focusing that diminishes overall connector efficiency. A connector having a continuous layer of the second conductive material joining adjacent strips along the entire interface between the adjacent strips is also provided and improves connector performance in ways that are especially beneficial to applications associated with an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle.

The magnetic field lines at a proximal surface of the substrate are at least two times as strong as those field lines entering the cathode. An anode is disposed such that a closed loop electron Hall current containment region is formed within the magnetic field.

Abstract: A battery charger amusement has a receptacle adapted to receive a rechargeable battery, an electronic circuit monitoring battery charge status, and a mechanical movement signal activated upon charge status attainment. The battery charger can include a motion actuator so as to move during the battery recharge process. The device is intended to encourage the use of rechargeable batteries over a disposable counterpart.
