Abstract: A method and a system for provides bed availability information via a computer network. A healthcare facility may provide bed availability and/or service information to a database on a computer network. Users of the computer network may access the information within the database. The healthcare facility may create a transfer request form for discharge of a patient to an extended care facility. The transfer request form containing patient medical information and/or patient treatment information is reviewed by an agent. The agent decides whether to approve the transfer request. Notifications are sent to the parties involved with the discharge of the patient to the healthcare facility notifying the parties of the decision of the agent.
Abstract: A system and method of notifying a remote client of a sensor triggering event and providing data related to the sensor triggering event to the remote client. The method has the steps of receiving a first notification signal indicating that a sensor has been triggered; identifying a data recording device associated with the triggered sensor wherein the data recording device records video data; identifying a client device designated to receive the video data when the sensor has been triggered; transmitting to the client device a second notification signal indicating that the sensor has been triggered; receiving an acknowledgement signal from the client device; and transmitting the video data to the client device.

Abstract: An antimicrobial product and a method for using the same display and/or store a first food product and/or a second food product. The antimicrobial product has a base layer having a first side and a second side for contacting and/or for abutting the first food product and/or the second food product. Abstract: A pallet changer and a system and a method for using the same attach, secure and/or connect a part and/or pallet assembly to a receiver assembly for machining the part. A groove and/or a pull post of the pallet assembly is insertable between a first wedge arm and a second wedge arm in an interior of the receiver assembly. Springs within the interior of the receiver assembly exert forces against the first wedge arm and the second wedge arm to maintain the first wedge arm and/or the second wedge arm in a first position within the interior of the receiver assembly. A key and/or a cam moves and/or rotates to move the first wedge arm and/or the second wedge arm from the first position to a second position. A first tapering on the pallet assembly engages and/or corresponds to a second tapering on the first wedge arm and/or the second wedge arm to secure and/or to attach the pallet assembly to the receiver assembly in the second position.
Abstract: An appliance, a system and a method correct habits of an oral cavity of a patient. The appliance is preformed or is custom-made in an open position or in a closed position. The appliance prevents the patient from breathing through an oral cavity of the patient and encourages the patient to breathe through a nose of the patient. The appliance corrects abnormal swallowing patterns, finger sucking habits, thumb sucking habits, abnormal tongue posturing, abnormal lip posturing and/or speech problems. A slot is formed on a top portion of the appliance to receive teeth of the patient for wearing the appliance. A shelf is formed on a bottom portion of the appliance to move a tongue of the patient to a correct position within the oral cavity during swallowing movements and/or during resting periods between the swallowing movements since there is more room above the shelf from a hollow area above of the shelf which is more comfortable for the patient.
Abstract: A system of dental appliances having various sizes and types and a method for treating malocclusions of patients of various ages without adjustments or appointments are provided. The dental appliances may be sized to treat, for example, patients in age ranges of less than six years; six years to twelve years; and twelve or more years. The dental appliances may have preformed and/or customized sockets and/or slots for more than one tooth, such as incisors and/or canines and/or molars and/or premolars and/or deciduous molars and/or adult molars. The dental appliances may be one-size-fits-all type dental appliances. The dental appliances may be used to treat a malocclusion, such as, for example, an overbite, an overjet, crowding, spacing, or temporomandibular joint problems, and may be distributed in an over-the-counter manner.
Abstract: A system and/or a method reads, measures and/or controls intensity of light emitted from a light-emitting diode (LED). The system and/or the method have a light intensity detector adjacent to the LED for reading and/or measuring the intensity of light emitted from the LED. The system and/or the method have a control circuit that may be electrically connected to both the detector and/or the LED for measuring and/or for controlling an intensity of light emitted from the LED. A housing surrounds the light detector and/or the LED. The housing has a pathway that allows only light emitted from the LED to reach the light detector. The LED has a finish and/or a coating that eliminates and/or retards absorption of light by internal components of the LED. The finish and/or the coating eliminates and/or retards reflection of the light by the LED.
Abstract: An autotuning method using an integral of a relay feedback response is disclosed, which obtains an ultimate data and frequency model of a process with greatly removing effects of harmonics by using integral of a relay feedback signal. The autotuning method using an integral of a relay feedback response comprises the first step for integrating a process data; and the second step for removing effects of harmonics after the first step and computing an ultimate gain, a frequency model and a parametric process model.

The method and the system determine the status of emergency rooms and/or the status of beds in emergency rooms of hospitals via a computer network. The system and the method allocate emergency rooms and/or the beds in the emergency rooms of the hospitals to ambulances and/or ambulance services. The system and the method diverts or bypasses patients to emergency rooms of other hospitals for medical treatment.
Abstract: A system and a method for accessing an electronic program guide (EPG) and media content from multiple locations using mobile devices. The media content is available from a content provider via a first network. The system and the method have a first terminal that may be located in a first location or in a second location. The terminal displays, accesses and/or connects to EPG for identifying and/or for accessing the media content. The first location or the second location of the first terminal is identified and/or is determined by the EPG and/or a second terminal in communication with the first terminal and/or the EPG. The first terminal accesses the EPG to identify a first list of media content or a second list of media content which may be consumed by the first terminal in the first location or the second location, respectively. The media content is restricted and/or is supplemented based on the first location or the second location of the first terminal.

A sleeve has a plurality of walls that form a geometric cross-section capable of resisting a crushing of the contents of the sleeve. An insert is sized for insertion into the sleeve adjacent to one or more of the plurality of walls. The accessories are affixed to the insert between the insert and one or more of the plurality of walls of the sleeve to maintain a position of the accessories for display through the sleeve. Cutouts and/or windows of transparency and/or translucency in one or more of the plurality of walls of the sleeve allow a purchaser to view the contents of the sleeve.
Abstract: An appliance, a system and a method prevent snoring of a patient. The appliance opens an airway of the patient by advancing a lower jaw of the patient. A slot is formed on an upper shell and/or a lower shell of the appliance to receive teeth of the patient for wearing the appliance. A hinge connects the upper shell to the lower shell and resists the closing of the mouth of the patient to maintain the open airway of the patient. Wedges protrude from the hinge between the upper shell and the lower shell to further resist the closing of the mouth of the patient. Stiffer material of the hinge and/or the wedges relative to material of the upper shell and the lower shell requires more force to close the mouth of the patient and maintains the open airway of the patient during sleep. Extended margins may receive liner material to secure the appliance to the dentition. Lingual extensions on the lower arch help to maintain the lower jaw in a forward position relative to the upper jaw.
Abstract: A bra and a system have bays and a truss for supporting breasts of a user wearing the bra. The bra has a first bay and/or a second bay for receiving the breasts of the user wearing the bra. The bra has a first cup, a second cup and/or the truss for supporting and/or for enclosing the breasts of the user. The truss connects a rear end of the first portion to a rear end of the second portion. Liners are connected to an interior surface of the first portion and/or an interior surface of the second portion. The truss reduces stress of, strain of and/or pain in shoulders, a neck and/or a back of the user from the weight of the breasts of the user. The bays, the truss and/or the cups of the bra minimize unwanted movements of the breast of the user.
Abstract: A system and a method connect mobile devices via channels which connect a first terminal and a second terminal. A bearer establishment of the connection is identified by the first terminal and/or the second terminal. The first terminal accesses information to identify the second terminal and/or to select a first codec for data to transmit the data in the first codec between the terminals. The first terminal alternatively chooses a first codec without accessing the information. The data in the first codec is transmitted from the first terminal to the second terminal without an exchange of codec capabilities and/or codec preferences. The second terminal is capable of receiving the data sent in the first codec. Alternatively, the second terminal may be incapable of receiving the data sent in the first codec. The first terminal uses capability and/or preference information received from the second terminal to detect cases whether the second terminal is incapable of receiving the data in the first codec.
Abstract: An HBT structure and manufacturing method thereof, in which the HBT structure includes an emitter, an intrinsic base, a collector, an insulating sidewall, and a stress-inducing base formed by selective epitaxial growth to locally induce a stress to the HBT structure. Compressive or tensile stress is additionally induced from outside to modify physical and electric properties of a semiconductor layer, thereby improving the performance of the transistor.
Abstract: Dental appliances and systems and methods for distributing dental appliances are provided. The dental appliances may be worn within a mouth of a patient to treat a dental condition. The dental appliances may be distributed to the patient through various venues. The venues range from those in which the patient has direct contact with a care provider to those in which the patient is able to independently determine an appropriate dental appliance to treat the dental condition. As a result, the amount of interaction between the patient and a care provider is significantly reduced, as well as an overall cost of treatment. The time necessary for appointments, if any, is also reduced and/or eliminated.
Abstract: An optical disc drive for recording and playing back a recordable-type optical disc includes a driving mechanism for rotating the optical disc, an optical pick-up for writing and reading data to and from the optical disc, signal processor for processing signals read out from the optical disc by means of the optical pick-up, a CPU for controlling the driving mechanism, the optical pick-up and the signal processor. The optical disc drive is further equipped with a detecting device for detecting an ATIP error and a counter for counting the number of ATIP errors. The optical disc drive counts the number of ATIP errors caused in a predetermined time based on the synchronization signal (SUBCODE-SYNC) produced by a clock provided in the optical disc drive after the synchronization signal (SUBCODE-SYNC) has been synchronized with a synchronization signal (ATIP-SYNC) obtained from a reference optical disc.
