Abstract: A film dressing for catheter sites and a method for applying and making such a dressing are provided. Preferably, the film dressing has a foam layer. A moisture vapor semi-permeable film may be secured to the foam layer. A window in the foam layer allows for viewing of the catheter site. The moisture vapor semi-permeable film may be coated with an adhesive for application to a catheter site. The adhesive may vary in strength and pattern. The dressing may further have a liner coated with silicone for use in protection of the semi-permeable film. A label may be removable attached to the silicone coated liner. The dressing may further have additional foam pieces for use in the application of the dressing to a patient. The dressing may have different colors indicating, for example, the strength of the adhesive used with the dressing.

Abstract: A floating connector includes a connector 2 having a base side, a flange-like connecting portion 3 provided on the base side of the connector 2, a base 4 for supporting the connecting portion 3, and a pair of coil springs 5 provided between the connecting portion 3 and the base 4 for supporting the connector in a floating state. The coil springs 5 are supported by coil spring receiving portions 31 provided in the connecting portion 3 and coil spring supporting bosses 41 provided on the base 4 so that the coil springs 5 can extend and contract in an inserting direction of a mating connector to be connected as well as to bend laterally in swing directions of the connector 2.

Abstract: Device for cooling an object according to the present invention, which comprises a deformable sleeve-like body (1) which includes an inner compartment (3) intended to contact the object and housing a non-freezing cooling liquid and an outer compartment (4) surrounding the inner compartment and housing an insulator, wherein the sleeve-like body has a variable inner diameter, which allows an adjustment thereof to objects having different outer dimensions, and wherein the insulator includes a compressible resilient material. The outer compartment is manufactured of cloth having air-permeability, elasticity and water absorption property.

Abstract: A shanty and a system and method for assembling the same are provided. The shanty may be assembled, disassembled and re-assembled using the same components of the shanty. The shanty may have panels which may be removably fastened to each other to assemble the shanty. A first type of panel may be a wall panel. A second type of panel, namely, a roof panel, may be attached to the wall panel to provide a ceiling for the shanty. The panels may be substantially planar in shape. Moreover, the panels may have a length defined between a first end and a second end wherein a section of each of the panels at the first end extends toward the second end. To assemble the shanty, the section of a first panel which extends toward the second end may be fastened to the section of a second panel which extends toward the second end.

Abstract: An ear cleaning apparatus, a tip and a method for cleaning an ear are provided. The ear cleaning apparatus may have a tip having protrusions. The protrusions may be made of a pliable material to assist in removing wax, dirt and/or other build-up from within an ear canal. Additionally, the tip may be removable from the apparatus for cleaning and/or replacement.

Abstract: A calendar is provided for behavior modification as well as a method for using the same. The calendar has calendar sheets and informational sheets. The calendar has objectives sections, data collection sections, analysis sections, non-date pages and/or detachable pages for use by an individual. The calendar may be customized and/or pre-designed for an individual or by the individual. In use, the behavior information may be recorded on the calendar sheet. Information associated with daily, weekly, and/or monthly behavior may be recorded. The information may include weekly and/or monthly averages and/or summations, delta calculations, and/or minimum/maximum data. The calendar may be adapted to measure or track indicators, such as, for example, developmental progress, caloric intake, amount and type of exercise, amount of fat, sodium or sugar, amount of cigarettes smoked, blood pressure measurements, weight gain or the like. A bottom space may also be provided to record monthly goals and/or objectives.

Abstract: A program executing device that can execute two programs produced using the same source program is disclosed. The program executing device 1 is generally composed from a processor (CPU) 2, a program memory (flash memory) 3, a storage memory (SRAM) 4, an I/O port 5, an address decoder 6, an address bus 11, a data bus 12, a read/write signal line 22, boot signal lines 31, 32 and 33, and an access object signal line 41. The address decoder 6 is adapted to send a boot signal to the storage memory 4 when the access object signal 302 is in either of 002 or 003. In this way, the program executing device 1 coverts two first address signals which are different only in their access object signals into the same second address signal. This makes it possible to reduce the capacity of the storage memory.

Abstract: A connector includes a connector main body 1 having a metallic electrical connecting portion 2, an inner molded portion 10a provided outside the connector main body and having a pair of protrusions 12 which are integrally formed on the opposite surfaces of the inner molded portion 10a, and an outer molded portion 20a provided outside the inner molded portion so that the protrusions 12 are partially exposed on the outer surface of the outer molded portion 20a. The pair of protrusions 12 protrude toward a pair of metal molds for molding the outer molding portion, respectively.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and system which extracts, manipulates and embeds data from a compressed and standard compliant video bitstream which may be used for digital rights management, e.g. controlling access to a bitstream or for authenticating a video bitstream. The method embeds binary data bits into compressed and standard compliant video bitstream with minimal visual artifacts. The method first parses the compressed video bitstream and locates coded blocks. The codeword C for the last triplet in the original block(RUNc,LEVELc, LASTc=1) is replaced by the VLC code word C? for the last triplet (RUNC,LEVELC, LASTC?=0). A codeword corresponding to a triplet with LAST=1 is placed after C? whose sign bit “s” can be either 0 or 1 and is an embedded data bit, and can be used for authentication.

Abstract: A dressing and a method for applying the same to a catheter entry site are provided. The dressing may have a transparent film within the dressing which may allow an individual to view, for example, a catheter entry site, or a wound on a patient. A portion of the transparent film may be free from adhesive, which may enable the dressing to be removed from the catheter entry site without inadvertent adhesion of the film to the patient and/or a catheter. Further, the dressing may be flexible and may contour to a shape of a catheter to prevent contaminants from entering the site.

Abstract: A password security apparatus, a mousepad and a method of using the same are provided. The apparatus, the mousepad and the method include a writing surface contained within the mousepad or apparatus. The writing surface may be disposed between multiple layers of the mousepad or may be disposed on the surface of a removable section that may be removed from the mousepad. Contained on the writing surface may be a grid having spaces for the addition of information. The information may be related to websites that a computer user may visit on a computer network such as, for example, the Internet. Further, the information such as, for example, user identification information and/or password information that may be related to the websites may be contained thereon.

Abstract: An assembly for mailing an article requiring delivery by a special service and a method for mailing same are provided. The assembly includes a return postcard and anchor portions removably attached to the return postcard. The anchor portions include adhesive that allows the anchor portions to be attached to a mailpiece. The return postcard includes a special services designator section indicative of the special service required for delivery of the mailpiece. The return postcard is integrally formed, but removably attached, such that the return postcard remains attached to the envelope until received by the addressee, at which time the return postcard may be removed. The assembly is designed to incorporate a form into the return postcard to simplify preparation of the mailpiece for delivery by the special service. Alternatively, the postcard may contain a machine readable code that aids in the delivery and tracking of the mailpiece.

Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method are provided for monitoring position of a machine element within a mechanical system and/or cleaning a machine element. A light source and sensor may be positioned within a cylinder. The sensor may detect the intensity of light within the cylinder as a shaft element moves laterally throughout the cylinder. The measurement may indicate the position of the shaft element within the cylinder. In addition, a seal, a wire brush and/or a bronze brush may be placed near an end wall of a cylinder. The seal may surround the shaft element. Furthermore, the shaft element may be coated with a compound, such as a nitrile compound or a ceramic compound or the like. The wire brush and bronze brush may be in contact with the shaft element and may scrape any contaminants, such as weld spatter, which may be deposited on the shaft element.

Abstract: A password security apparatus, a mousepad and a method of using the same are provided. Abstract: A marking device, a method of using the same and an accessory kit for a marking device having a sheath that may fit over a barrel of a marking device such as, for example, a pen or a pencil. Further, the marking device may contain an end cap having a connecting lead that may be attached to a surface, such as a surface on or near a computer or an automatic teller machine, for example. In addition, the sheath may contain an antimicrobial agent that may protect users of the sheath from disease-causing bacteria or other like agents.

Abstract: An introducer for a catheter and a closed-end infusion catheter are provided. The catheter may be porous or may have a number of holes in which to infuse anesthetics into a body area of a patient. The introducer allows for introducing and proper placement of the catheter in the body of the patient. In addition, a method for using the introducer to place the catheter in the body of the patient is provided. The introducer may pierce the skin of the patient and may be inserted through the subcutaneous layer to an exit site. After a portion of the introducer protrudes through the exit site, the catheter may be attached to the introducer. The introducer may be pulled into the body, through the subcutaneous layer and out of the body at the original entry site. The introducer may then be removed, and the catheter may be pulled into place and sutured to the skin.
