  • Patent number: 8276861
Abstract: One aspect according to the present invention includes a base portion and a clamp portion. The base portion can be joined to a first member of a vehicle. The clamp portion is formed integrally with the base portion and can joined to a second member of the vehicle. The clamp portion includes a first jaw and a second jaw defining a receiving space therebetween. The receiving space can receive a part of the second member. A support portion is formed on one of the first and second jaws and is positioned within the receiving space. The support portion is resiliently deformable and can apply a pressing force against the part of the second member in a direction toward the other of the first and second jaws during and after insertion of the part of the second member into the receiving space.

  • Patent number: 8276587
Abstract: A hand-held, automated qualitative fit tester (QLFT) for establishing gas mask fit integrity. The automated QLFT may be configured to utilize a pressure source in combination with a cartridge and a nebulizer to generate aerosols having size distributions and concentrations that are substantially the same as OSHA-approved manual units. The QLFT may further include a cartridge that contains the aerosol solution used to test mask integrity. The cartridge may be configured to recapture solution that collects on the interior walls of the nebulizer. The automated QLFT may also be equipped with a microprocessor for executing sequences that are in substantive compliance with 29 CFR 1910.134 and for writing to a data storage device. The automated aspects of the invention can reduce or negate the need for operating personnel to repeatedly and manually actuate a squeeze ball and record results manually, as is required with present OSHA-approved hand-held aerosol generators.

  • Patent number: 8276507
Abstract: An improved pressure cooker design including a two-piece handle utilizing a common connection point to a cover to increase resistance to damage due to over tightening of connecting screws while simultaneously allowing the use of a conventional handle size with a reduction in overall packaging size. The two-piece handle design includes a cover base portion and a cover grip portion wherein a pair of nuts are mounted within the cover base portion to receive coupling screws at both ends of the nuts for joining the cover and the cover grip portion to the cover base portion. Tightening of the coupling screws provides for continuous metal on metal contact eliminating damage to weaker polymeric materials while allowing a consumer to quickly and easily attach the cover grip portion of the two-piece handle to the cover base portion at a point of use so as reduce overall packaging dimensions.

  • Patent number: 8281008
Abstract: A resource allocation apparatus, method, application program, and computer readable medium thereof are provided. A plurality of data streams are transmitted to a plurality of receiving ends via a network resource, wherein each of the receiving ends has a subscribing status. Each of the data streams comprises a plurality of data layers. First, required data are sent to the receiving ends. Then, an efficiency ratio of each of the possible transmission combinations is dynamically calculated. Finally, data layers comprised in the possible transmission combination that has the greatest efficiency ratio are transmitted to the receiving ends. Efficiency ratios are calculated according to the whole network resource, the channels of the receiving ends, and the characters of the data streams. By the aforementioned arrangement, data layers received by the receiving ends can be adjusted dynamically. Thus, the efficiency of the network resource can be increased.

  • Patent number: 8281364
Abstract: A trusted input technique in which switching is made between an OS environment unreliable in security and a BIOS reliable in security. Rapid switching to a secure environment, such as BIOS mode, upon request for secure input, is enabled. An OS environment of a user can be quickly resumed after the user completes the input of a cryptogram. The technique does not and will not have any influence on secure transaction architecture. The identification of a server is authenticated in a trusted secure environment, and thus it is possible to prevent such problem as “phishing” websites. The user cryptogram is present as plaintext only in a BIOS environment and server and as encrypted during intermediate transmission. Thus, it is impossible to be intercepted by any virus such as a “Trojan horse”.

  • Patent number: RE43696
Abstract: A mounting bracket apparatus for adjustably supporting a flat panel display from a wall. The mounting bracket includes a wall bracket, a display bracket and two traversing mounts. The traversing mounts are supportively disposed between the wall bracket and the display bracket, and driven along a pair of substantially parallel linear axes by a pair of actuators enabling vertical adjustment of the display bracket. The traversing mounts are flexibly coupled between the wall bracket and the display bracket, thereby enabling misalignment of the positions to adjust the skew of the display bracket relative to the wall bracket.
