  • Patent number: 7823937
Abstract: A slam to close, glove box latch includes a housing, a paddle structure connected to rotate on the housing, a rotary pawl mounted to rotate in the housing, and a lock plate carried by the paddle structure to selectively engage the rotary pawl to inhibit its movement. The rotary pawl is spring biased to the open position. The paddle structure is spring biased to the closed position. The paddle structure includes guideways in which the lock plate operates. When the paddle is moved to the open position, the pawl is released to rotate open and the lock plate is carried to an interference-friction position with the pawl whereby the paddle is held in the open position. When the pawl is closed by the slam action of the latch, the interference-friction with the lock plate is released and the paddle structure returns to the closed position. Biasing is limited to two springs. The volume (envelope) of the latch is minimized.

  • Patent number: 7819412
Abstract: A universal fender step for a boat trailer and the like includes a channel of trapezoidal-shaped cross-section. Longitudinally extending gutters at each of the four corners of the trapezoid shape extend the length of the channel. A slip resistant surface is provided on the top face. The channel is formed as a long beam and then cut to a length needed for a particular step. An end plate is attached to an open end of the channel with four push-pins, screws or other type fasteners which each engage a respective end of one of the gutters. A pair of mounting holes is each positioned in each side wall juxtaposed from each other. These mounting holes accommodate bolts for attaching a side wall to a trailer fender. An elongate hole in the channel's top face permits the positioning of a further mounting bolt with a trailer side rail. A lamp may be mounted to one side wall with the wiring harness extending in a longitudinal gutter and held therein by clips.

  • Patent number: 7798540
Abstract: A latch having a housing, handle, actuators, pawl and rotary pawl torsion spring and two actuator torsion springs. The rotary pawl torsion spring biases the pawl toward the unlatched or opened position. The handle is pivotally attached to the housing and has two paddles that engage the actuator. The actuator is slidably supported by the housing. Lifting the handle to the open position causes rotating movement of the actuator which in turn causes the pawl to rotate to the unlatched or retracted position.

  • Patent number: 7780204
Abstract: An electromechanical push to close latch has a pawl positioned for linear movement in a housing, with the pawl being biased to the outward extended position. An electric motor operates a cam to change the position of the pawl thereby retracting it into the housing. An electronic circuit board controls the operation of the electric motor under the direction of an outside control signal. The circuit board also senses the position of the pawl to stop the operation of the motor when the pawl is fully retracted. The pawl mounting can be reconfigured for the pawl to extend and thereby operate in a plurality of selectable directions.

  • Patent number: 7780684
Abstract: A surgical instrument is provided, principally for use with endoscopic plastic surgery, and adapted for insertion into an incision for engaging subcutaneous tissue, fat, fascia or muscle (STFFM) through a remote access incision, grasping the STFFM, and enabling it to be moved to another location. The STFFM is grasped preferably by engaging it with a needle and passing a suture through it, with the suture being locked by engagement via a hook, all at a location inside the skin that is remote from the opening. This enables the sutured STFFM to be moved, in any direction, but most often toward the incision as the inserted portion of the instrument is removed. A vacuum and an external clamp are provided, for facilitating engagement of the portion of the STFFM that is to be sutured.

  • Patent number: 7762036
Abstract: Natural wood sandwiched engineered flooring utilizes all natural wood as the raw material which is made into several components which are combined to make this product. The components are a single or multilayer top veneer bottom or base layer and a middle layer. The four sides of the natural wood sandwiched engineered flooring strip consist of either a tongue and a groove or an interlocking system. The middle layer consists of two parallel solid wood strips, and located perpendicular to and between the parallel solid wood strips are small pieces of soft wood, which are glued together. The small soft wood pieces can be of fast growing soft wood, and as such saves treasured hardwood lumber. The production cost of the raw material is much lower than other types of engineered flooring. Further, an enhanced stabilization of the hardwood flooring is provided which is more suitable for radiant heat.

  • Patent number: 7757500
Abstract: An ice making, and delivery apparatus for making and delivering ice to different ones of a plurality of receptacle units is provided, in which ice delivered via a conduit to a diverter valve mechanism, is diverted from alignment with one ice discharge line to another, depending upon sensors in ice receptacles recognizing a level of build-up of ice in any given receptacle, for computer control of a gearmotor for moving the diverter valve from one position to another. Various controls are provided for preventing ice build-up, and for operating the diverter valve during a “dwell” period of ice movement in the conduit, as distinguished from a “push” period of ice movement in the conduit to the diverter valve. A force multiplication technique is employed for moving the diverter valve notwithstanding the presence of ice therein.
