  • Patent number: 6348258
Abstract: A breathable film having improved processing properties and reduced cost includes a breathable film-forming layer composition including a matrix polymer, a particulate organic filler, and a compatibilizer. The particulate organic filler is incompatible with the matrix polymer and tends to agglomerate when mixed with the matrix polymer alone. The compatibilizer achieves thermodynamic equilibrium between the matrix polymer and filler within a defined filler particle size range suitable for producing stretched breathable film. The film processes more easily than breathable films containing inorganic fillers, and is less expensive to manufacture.

  • Patent number: 6346882
Abstract: A switchgear cabinet monitoring arrangement with a monitoring unit (ÜE) having a control device (ST), an indicator control and inputs for connecting sensors, outputs for connecting actuators, and a programming unit which is or can be connected with the monitoring unit, and with an indicator device. An improved adaptation to various uses of the switchgear cabinet is achieved because visual and/or acoustical notices for the distribution via the indicator device can be provided and changed by the programming unit and can be transmitted to the monitoring unit and stored in a memory device. As a function of the switchgear states detected via the sensors, the notices can be transmitted by the control device to the indicator device and can be displayed on the indicator device.

  • Patent number: 6338453
Abstract: A winding device, having a winding shaft, which can be inserted into and removed from the winding device, and a winding element and bearing journals protruding from both ends in the direction of the center axis of the winding shaft. The winding device has two outer bearings for receiving the bearing journals for rotatable seating of the winding shaft in the winding device, and an additional bearing for the winding shaft is assigned, spaced apart, to each outer bearing. Each outer bearing has a coupling device, and the coupling devices are displaceable along the center axis of the winding shaft and can be connected with or disconnected from the respective ends of the bearing journals. The additional bearings, acting as inner bearings, are formed between the ends of the bearing journals, which can be connected with the outer bearings, and the winding element on the bearing journal of the winding shaft.

  • Patent number: 6329783
Abstract: An electric motor and its controller are specially adapted for variable speed applications. The stator of the motor has its main windings controlled by triacs. The triacs are placed to allow the main windings to operate in series at low speed and in parallel at high speeds. The firing delay of the operating triacs is controlled in both series and parallel winding operations to aid in smooth operation of the motor. The auxiliary winding is preferably left uncontrolled to contribute a regular sinusoidal component to the windings power at all times. The controller receives the speed command and figures firing delay and outputs triac control pulses at one of a plurality of settings to bring the motor to the selected speed. In this manner a simple, inexpensive, and continuously variable speed motor may be realized with good performance characteristics.

  • Patent number: 6323422
Abstract: A cable entry for a switch cabinet having an opening positioned in a floor of the switch cabinet and surrounded by a connecting layer. The opening can be closed off with bottom plates which can be placed one next to each other and connected to the connecting layer. The sides of adjoining bottom plates assigned to each other have angled edges fitted with sealing strips. The cables are fed into the switch cabinet between the sealing strips and sealed by deformation of the sealing strips. This invention provides for the edges of the bottom plates to be configured as a double fold, a first section of which points towards the upper or lower side of the bottom plate while the second end section of the double fold extends across the first section and protrudes from the lower or upper side of the bottom plate. The sealing strips extend across the width of the end section of the double fold.
