  • Patent number: 7494471
Abstract: A system and method for tracking and informing about a physical, emotional, or physiological cycle, such as a menstrual cycle, includes at least one definition entry and at least one date indicator. Each definition entry defines indicia such as color to represent a stage of a physical, emotional, or physiological cycle. Each date indicator includes a date section and a tracking section corresponding to each date section. The date section of the date indicator indicates at least one date, wherein the tracking section is capable of being marked so as to indicate indicia corresponding to a definition entry to signify the stage of the physical, emotional, or physiological cycle for each date. According to one embodiment, the date indicators are arranged according to phases of the moon to allow correlation of a user's cycle to the lunar cycle.

  • Patent number: 7481872
Abstract: The ferrous metal chemical conversion coating is comprised of mixed oxides and organometallic compounds of aluminum and iron. A ferrous metal substrate is immersed for a period of time in a bath composition, at a temperature, at a pH, and at a concentration for each constituent of the bath composition, that will form a coating with the desired characteristics. The bath composition comprises water, aluminum salt, oxalic acid, and an oxidizer. The conversion coating is amorphous in nature and can be formed as thin as 1 micron with a coating weight in the range of about 40-250 milligrams per square foot. When sealed with an appropriate rust preventive material, the coating enhances corrosion resistance of the ferrous metal substrate. It is an effective absorbent base for paint finishes. When top coated with a lubricant, the conversion coating aids (a) assembly of parts, (b) break-in of sliding surfaces, and (c) anti-galling.

  • Patent number: 7452311
Abstract: An exercise machine includes a dual fulcrum articulated force lever connected to a machine frame. The articulated force lever includes a first force arm and a second force arm. A fixed end of the second force arm is pivotally connected to the frame at a first fulcrum. A movable end of the second force arm is pivotally connected to a first end of the first force arm for pivoting of the first force arm about a second fulcrum. A resistance load is attached intermediately to the first force arm. A handle section is connected to the first end of the first force arm opposite the pivot connection to the second force arm. Movement of the handle section in one direction rotates the first force arm and the second force arm together about the first fulcrum against the load. Movement of the handle section in an opposite direction rotates the first force arm about the second fulcrum against the load.

  • Patent number: 7441942
Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for applying liquid feed additives to a feed composition. In one embodiment, the system has a spray housing defining a spray chamber located adjacent a mix housing carrying a material composition. The mix housing defines a mix chamber, which contains an actuating device, such as an auger, that moves the material stream through the mix chamber. The mix chamber and spray chamber are in fluid communication. A spray nozzle is coupled to the spray housing and in fluid communication with an air source and liquid additive tank. The spray nozzle sprays a fog of air and liquid additive through the spray chamber and into the mix chamber, which gets deposited on the passing feed stream.

  • Patent number: 7438281
Abstract: A pulley for assisting in the deployment or take-up of a heterogeneous system including modules configured to be placed or being placed in an environment. These modules are connected via connecting members and the pulley is configured to be mounted rotatably on a shaft placed above the environment. The pulley includes first cooperating members configured to cooperate with the connecting members and second cooperating members configured to cooperate with the modules. The first and second cooperating members are configured to produce two successive operating states, namely, a first state during which the pulley is substantially stationary in rotation around the shaft and a second state corresponding to the passage of the modules, during which the pulley is driven in rotation around the shaft.

  • Patent number: 7416850
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to assays and methods involving Cytochrome c (Cyt c) and leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein-1 (LRG), and related antibodies. In an embodiment, the invention includes a method of detecting LRG in a sample, the method including disposing Cyt c on a substrate; contacting the sample with the Cyt c; contacting bound components of the sample with an antibody or antibody fragment specific for LRG; and quantitating the amount of the antibody or antibody fragment bound to LRG. In an embodiment, the invention includes a method of purifying or enhancing the purity of LRG from a sample, the method including contacting the sample with Cyt c; forming a complex between LRG in the sample and Cyt c; removing uncomplexed components of the sample; releasing LRG from the complex with Cyt c; and collecting the released LRG.
