Abstract: A method and system for improving closed loop feedback in transmit diversity communication. In one embodiment of the invention, a predetermined variation of one or more transmit diversity parameters is performed at the transmit diversity transmitter. The receiver compares the transmit diversity parameter values of the received signals to the predetermined variation and transmits to the transmitter a value of a transmit diversity correction parameter. The transmitter may use this correction value to modify the transmit diversity parameter in a subsequent transmission.

Abstract: A system, device and a method to perform bilateral filtering using linear convolution by way of an FFT or a recursive sequence method. Proper selection of functions for the photometric and spatial components of a bilateral filter may reduce the computational cost of the bilateral filter while preserving the bilateral filter de-noising and edge detection capabilities. Such functions may reduce the computational cost of a bilateral filter to substantially O(1).

Abstract: Disclosed is a hollow fiber system for a humidifier, including hollow fibers that are permeable to steam. A first air flow can be conducted within the hollow fibers while a second air flow can be conducted outside the hollow fibers. The hollow fibers are located at least in part at a distance from each other via a device (6) that is disposed between the hollow fibers, respectively.
Abstract: Feedback loops are used within a Multiport Amplifier (MPA) of a communications satellite to maintain phase and amplitude tracking and hence isolation and combining performance. at Ku and Ka-bands, for which there is increasing interest in MPA applications, and where wavelengths are short and maintenance of phase/amplitude tracking becomes highly challenging. Feedback loops are located at strategic points within the MPA Output Network (ONET) to detect tracking errors and provide compensation. Errors are detected through power measurements at “null points”, with zero power corresponding to accurate tracking. The feedback loops adjust the MPA phase/gains such that the levels at these points are maintained at zero. The scheme operates with a pilot signal for measurement of nulls, injected at one of the MPA inputs.
