Abstract: A system and method is provided for enabling wireless access to a computer network via communication between a remote (client) wireless device and a wireless device physically linked to the computer network. A bank of one or more wireless gateway devices may be cradled and connected to a network server. The wireless gateway devices may then act as a node on the wireless network, and remote wireless devices may send and receive messages to and from the wireless gateway devices using PIN-to-PIN messaging. The wireless gateway devices, when cradled, may communicate with any attached server or other network equipment, and may therefore act as a wireless gateway to the server or other network equipment.
Abstract: Zirconium-containing BaO- and PbO-free X-ray opaque glasses having a refractive index nd of about 1.518 to about 1.533 and a high X-ray opacity with an aluminum equivalent thickness of at least about 180% are provided. Such glasses are based on a SiO2—Al2O3—B2O3 system with additions of K2O, ZrO2, and one or both of La2O3 and Cs2O. Such glasses may be used, in particular, as dental glasses or as optical glasses.

Abstract: In a private network setting in which various computers can be attached, the confidential or sensitive data within the various devices on the private network is vulnerable. The ability to copy such confidential or sensitive data to a storage device communicatively coupled to a client computer on the network is governed and controlled. Only devices that include an authentic stamp or digital certificate can be accessed by client computers. If a device does not have a valid stamp or the stamp has been black listed, then the access to the device can be prevented or greatly limited.

Abstract: An in vivo imaging device comprises a viewing window, an illumination unit, a lens holder and a light guide. The light guide may be positioned to create uniformly dispersed illumination and to eliminate backscatter from the viewing window. The light guide may guide light from the illumination unit to a desired position within the in vivo device. In one embodiment, the light guide may be embedded into the lens holder.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for monitoring and evaluating multimedia telephonic and computer-communication interactions. The multimedia quality monitoring system may include an event manager, which may receive a notification associated with a VoIP communication between an agent and a customer and recording servers, which record data associated with the VoIP communication.
Abstract: A communication network comprises a plurality of physical media. The physical media may be sensitive to disturbances that are different from one physical medium to another, such that a failure in one physical medium may not effect communication in other physical medium of the communication network. The nodes of the communication network comprise a plurality of physical layers units and MAC units pairs, each pair connected to a different physical medium. The transfer of massages among the network nodes on the plurality of different physical media is done in a transparent way by upper layers of communication unit of the network nodes.
Abstract: A method of routing a received incipient transaction to an organization entity includes processing experiential data of a fact collection regarding past transactions, including processing experiential data regarding past transactions involving an initiator of the incipient transaction and experiential data regarding transactions handled by organizational entities. At least one routing rule is evaluated in view of the experiential data processing, to make a routing determination. The incipient transaction is routed, for completion, to one of the organizational entities based on the routing determination. Furthermore, experiential data regarding completion of the incipient transaction, may be fed back to the fact collection.
Abstract: A system and method for reconstructing a session. A method may include receiving audio and metadata packets related to a session. Audio data may be recorded and metadata information may be extracted from the metadata packets and stored in association with the audio data. A session may be reconstructed by simultaneously replaying the audio data and presenting a visual representation of the metadata.
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for resolving contradicting output data from an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) system providing a conversion of pixelized documents into computer coded text as the output data, wherein the OCR output data comprises at least a first and second character listed as being likely candidates for an exemplar of a same sampled character instance from the pixelized document, by providing steps that identify locations of differences in graphical appearance between the candidate characters, and then using the location information to identify a corresponding locations in the sampled character instance. Based on correlation technique, this location information is used to select the correct candidate character as the identification of the sampled character instance.

Abstract: For selectively routing downlink frequency channels to downlink beams of a communications satellite, the inherent routing functionality of a normal bandwidth multiport amplifier (MPA) is exploited in conjunction with the grouped channel filter characteristics of an output multiplexer (OMUX). In this arrangement the guard bands inherent in the OMUX mitigate the poor inter-port isolation inherent in the MPA so that two low performance elements in combination can be used to achieve an improved performance at system level.
Abstract: Devices, systems and method for in vivo analysis. For example, an in vivo device includes: a reaction chamber to store a detecting reagent able to react with a sample collected in vivo; and optionally a labeled-substance chamber to store a labeled substance able to bind to at least a portion of a compound resulting from a reaction of the detecting reagent and the sample.
