  • Patent number: 6053544
Abstract: A locking handle for a refrigerator includes a mounting element rigidly secured to a refrigerator door, a hand grip rigidly secured to the mounting element, and a latch attached to the mounting element. The latch has a catch movable between a locked position and an unlocked position and an actuator operably connected to the catch for moving the catch from the locked position to the unlocked position. The latch provides a positive lock which is actuated to an unlocked position with a manipulation separate from pulling the hand grip but has an actuator located near the hand grip so that it can be manipulated by a hand grasping and pulling the hand grip. In a first embodiment, the catch is integrally molded with the mounting portion and is laterally deflectable away from a retainer mounted beside the door. In a second embodiment the catch is a vertically extending spindle which is downwardly movable away from a retainer mounted above the door.

  • Patent number: 6052573
Abstract: An off-hook/on-hook signal discriminating means 5a is provided in a control portion 5 of the FSU in order to make discrimination between a pulse dial signal and a hooking signal. When a telephone turns to an off-hook state after an on-hook state and turns to an on-hook state again and the on-hook state is continued for a predetermined time, the FSU performs a terminating process so as to be returned into a standby state. When an off-hook signal is detected again in a time smaller than a predetermined time, the FSU recognizes that the signal is either a dial pulse signal or a hooking signal, and the off-hook/on-hook signal discriminating means 5a monitors the time required for detecting an on-hook signal again. When the time required for detecting an on-hook signal again is smaller than the predetermined time, the FSU decides that the signal is a dial pulse signal, and controls a tone generating circuit 7f to stop the dial tone.

  • Patent number: 6049194
Abstract: A generating apparatus for feeding a current to a battery using a magneto as a power supply is disclosed which is capable of varying a magnetic field acting on generating coils to widely control characteristics of the magneto. A rectifying/switch circuit is arranged between the magneto and a load, which incorporates the battery. The rectifying/switch circuit includes diodes and switch elements. The diodes are 2n (n.gtoreq.2) in number and are bridge-connected to each other. The switch elements are connected to the diodes by reverse parallel connection. A switch control unit applies an AC control voltage of a predetermined phase from the battery through the rectifying/switch circuit to the generating coils, so that a phase of the AC control voltage may be varied to widely vary characteristics of the magneto.

  • Patent number: 6049580
Abstract: The proposed installation comprises an abrasive liquid jet cutting module using a mobile nozzle (25) rotatable in all directions and which also supports a sensor (37) so that it can previously recognize the position or shape of the structure to be cut, a dosimeter (49) to measure its irradiation and a decontamination device (51) to eliminate all excess contamination from it. Cutting residue may be collected by suction. The installation is more universal than previously known installations.

  • Patent number: 6047511
Abstract: A grid tee of the double web type in which the elements of the web are integrally stitched together to prevent their separation. The stitches are created in an inexpensive rolling process that does not require control of the position of the stitches relative to the ends or other parts of the tee. According to the invention, after the stitches are formed and locked, they are flattened back into the plane of the web to a limited degree where they do not substantially increase the thickness of the web so that they do not interfere with subsequent manufacturing steps or with field assembly.

  • Patent number: 6045911
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cutting filament intended for trimming and cutting vegetation, such a cutting filament being used on rotary-head motorized cultivators such as brush cutters and edge trimmers. During use such cutting filaments generate a substantial and unpleasant amount of high-frequent noise which is added to the noise of the motor for driving the rotary head. These noises lead to outdoor noise pollution. Legislatory requirements aiming to limit the noise to a level deemed to be acceptable are being drawn up and could shortly come into force. The cutting filament according to the present invention is characterized in that the cutting filament (1; 10') has undulations (2; 6; 12') that recur in the longitudinal direction of the cutting filament (1; 10').
