Abstract: Overhead of signaling for retransmission control using a multiple codeword is decreased and throughput is improved. A radio communication apparatus performs data transmission by using the multiple codeword, and includes a reception device having a MIMO demodulation section 15 for demodulating data transmitted by the multiple codeword and an ACK/NACK generation section 21 for generating an ACK/NACK signal corresponding to the demodulation result of the demodulated data of respective codewords. The ACK/NACK generation section 21 allocates less resource to a signal corresponding to a low-order code word having a lower quality, and allocates more resource to a signal for a high-order codeword having a higher quality, thereby generating the ACK/NACK signal.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for stirring and/or aerating fluids, particularly sewage, having the following cyclically repeated steps: aerating the fluid by means of an immersed aerator for a predetermined first period of time (t1) using an aeration device (1) disposed on a carrier (3, 43) designed as a floodable hollow body (2, 42), the hollow body (2, 42) being flooded and air being brought into the fluid by the aeration device, whereby the potential for nitrification is created in the fluid; stirring the fluid by means of the immersed aerator for a predetermined second period of time (t2), the air infeed by the aeration device (1) being throttled or turned off, and previously flooded hollow body being evacuated in order to fill the hollow body (2, 42) with gar or air, the immersed aerator assuming the function of mixing device in which fluid rises upward, thus mixing the fluid, where in the potential for denitrification is created in the fluid; and an immersed aerator.

Abstract: Apparatus for inductive braking of a projectile are disclosed. Embodiments include a receiver that has a unidirectional conductor having a closed conductive pathway that encircles a passageway for a moving projectile. The unidirectional conductor permits current to flow through it in substantially only one direction around the passageway. As the projectile and its associated magnetic field move past the unidirectional conductor, the moving magnetic field induces a current flow through the closed conductive pathway, which in turn generates a magnetic field behind the projectile having the same polarity as the projectile's field. The two fields attract one another, which both exerts a braking force on the projectile and tends to align the two fields. Alignment of these fields centers the projectile away from the passageway wall.
Abstract: An imaging apparatus has an imaging section that creates video data from an optical image of a subject field; a feature acquiring section that acquires features of a main subject in the subject field; a feature holding section that holds the acquired features; a tracking processing section that performs a predetermined process for tracking the main subject using the created video data and the held features; and a controlling section that validates or invalidates an operation of the feature acquiring section, and the controlling section invalidates the operation of the feature acquiring section when the imaging apparatus satisfies a predetermined condition.
Abstract: A multiblade air blower has a multiblade impeller, an orifice, an axially overlaid portion, and an airflow collision prevention device. The multiblade impeller includes a main plate and a blade. The blade is provided at the main plate to form a blade inner periphery. The orifice has an open end and an orifice inner periphery. The open end is positioned toward the main plate from a blade end face. The orifice inner periphery has an inner diameter larger than that of the blade inner periphery, and guides air to the multiblade impeller. The axially overlaid portion is a part where the orifice and the blades are overlaid. The airflow collision prevention device is provided at the blade and at an inner side of the orifice inner periphery. The multiblade air blower suppresses loss of air distribution efficiency and increased noise.
Abstract: A method of reducing the concentration of pollutants in a combustion flue gas having a first temperature is provided. The method includes the step of providing an organic Rankine cycle apparatus utilizing a working fluid and including at least one heat exchanger is arranged in thermal communication with the flue gas. The method further includes the step of reducing the temperature of the flue gas to a second temperature less than the first temperature by vaporizing the working fluid within the heat exchanger utilizing thermal energy derived from the flue gas. The method further includes the step of filtering the flue gas through at least one filter disposed downstream of the heat exchanger to remove pollutants from the flue gas. An associated system configured to reduce the concentration of pollutants in the combustion flue gas is also provided.

Abstract: Magnetic element with thermally-assisted magnetic-field writing or thermally-assisted spin-transfer writing, comprising: a reference magnetic layer having a fixed direction magnetization; a storage magnetic layer exchange-pinned with an antiferromagnetic layer, wherein the magnetization direction of the storage layer can vary when said element can be heated to a temperature at least higher than a critical temperature of the antiferromagnetic layer; a tunnel barrier, provided between the reference layer and the storage layer; wherein the magnetic reference layer, and/or the magnetic storage layer includes at least one electrically-resistive thin layer for heating the magnetic element. The magnetic element disclosed herein has a voltage gain of typically 10 to 50% compared to conventional magnetic elements and shows a reduction of the stress induced during a writing operation as well as a reduction of the aging.
