  • Patent number: 7881708
Abstract: A mobile terminal having a multi-medial user interface, a controller and a memory is presented. The memory is adapted to store a plurality of profiles, each profile defining a respective behavior pattern of the multi-medial user interface and being definable by a user of the mobile terminal. The controller is adapted to provide a first control parameter representative of a desired profile as selected by the user. The controller is also adapted to provide a second control parameter representative of a contextual status of the mobile terminal. The controller is adapted to modify a behavior pattern of the multi-medial user interface depending on the first and second control parameters.

  • Patent number: 7857259
Abstract: A modular seat system for a passenger compartment of a vehicle, in particular an aircraft, with at least one seat which includes a seat unit with a seating element and a seat back, a seat frame with at least one pair of essentially vertical support elements, at whose upper end a bearing structure is arranged on which the seat unit rests, and a fixing structure in the floor of the passenger compartment with at least two longitudinal rails, which have a predetermined spacing from one another, for accommodating the lower ends of the support elements. In order to ensure a cost-effective and flexible fixing of standardized installation modules—in particular passenger seats—with different spacing of the mounting rails, there is provided a spacing device, which defines the spacing between the two support elements at their upper and/or lower end, so that the spacing of the support elements from one another is variable independently of the width of the seat unit.

  • Patent number: 7856767
Abstract: A novel simplified system for protecting a crawlspace against the entry of sub-soil water vapor and external ground water from the crawlspace walls and floor and for completely isolating the crawlspace from water vapor from the ground. The present system comprises applying over the floor of the crawlspace, generally a dirt floor but sometimes a poured concrete floor, a continuous durable embossed plastic drainage panel, and extending the drainage panel vertically-upwardly to cover and seal the interior peripheral foundation walls enclosing the crawlspace to an elevation at least slightly greater than the elevation of the ground in contact with the exterior surfaces of the peripheral walls and preferably to the tops of the peripheral walls. This encapsulates the dirt surface of the entire crawlspace against the penetration of external ground water or floor water and also sub-soil water and water vapor and provides a water drainage space beneath the drainage panel for the escape of water and vapor therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7848304
Abstract: Multiple transport channels (405, 406, 407) are multiplexed and transmitted in a single physical channel. A code (TFCI) is added to the transport channel data flows to indicate which processing schemes, from a set of available schemes, are being employed and the resultant blocks are interleaved. The depth of the interleaving is set in dependence on the transmission time intervals associated with the schemes in the set of processing schemes.

  • Patent number: 7840389
Abstract: The subject of the disclosed embodiments is a method of optimizing stiffened panels under stress. In particular, the method makes it possible to determine the stress distribution in stiffened panels with postbuckling taken into account. The method proposed is a coupling between an overall, linear stress calculation approach, based on strength-of-materials results, and a local, nonlinear approach for the behavior of the stiffened panel. The disclosed embodiments fall within the field of aeronautical design, at the pilot study stage in the definition of a civil transport airplane of conventional architecture.

  • Patent number: 7835771
Abstract: The invention relates to the combining of mobile station properties. In addition the invention relates to the controlling in a desired manner of mobile station properties. The object of the invention is to give a mobile station a more stylish and youthful general appearance by enhancing the chances of the user to personalize his mobile station and by making the methods of communication between mobile stations more versatile. According to the invention it is possible to produce and present to the user various properties perceptible by the different senses, e.g. text, graphics, sound, vibration and/or illumination. These properties can be associated with each other to form effect entities. These effect entities can be transmitted to another mobile station during a conventional connection. In the receiving mobile station the effect entities are presented using different means of expression than the communication data proper.

  • Patent number: 7819677
Abstract: A mounting fixture for detachably fastening cover plates in an aircraft. For fixing, a retaining bracket fixed on the cover plate is snap-fitted onto a retaining pin fixed on a substructure of the fuselage cell. A first holder is fixed on the retaining pin for receiving at least one connecting element, and a second holder is displaceably fitted in a forked holder on the retaining bracket. The forked holder has a roughly U-shaped form with two upright arms each connected at their lower ends by a base plate. Two connecting elements are preferably each fixed in the holders. The connecting elements are formed as electrical and/or optical sockets and plugs each with cabling attached. By swiveling a contacting lever the second holder can be moved linearly to and fro in relation to the first holder and can be introduced and pushed at least in part into the first holder whereby the final electrical and/or optical contact is produced by means of the sockets and the plugs.
