  • Patent number: 7764657
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a method in a transmitter for interleaving information bits from a data block into transmission bursts. Each of the information bits is assigned with an index. The interleaving includes computing positions of the information bits in the transmission bursts such that the values of the indexes of at least a portion of the information bits are modified. At a receiver it is determined if the value of any of the indexes has been modified before transmission of the transmission bursts. Based on the determination, de-interleaving of the information bits is then accomplished based on modified values of the indexes or originally assigned values of the indexes.

  • Patent number: 7755890
Abstract: The updating and consultation of flight documents, aeronautical maps and aircraft documentation is being facilitated by migration towards laptop-accessible electronic versions of these documents. To facilitate inflight exploitation of these documents, the laptop is connected to a docking station (105) itself connected to input (107)/output (106) peripherals accessible from flight decks. This docking station and these peripherals are mounted permanently in the cockpit. A laptop can then be introduced into the docking station so that the resources of this laptop can be exploited by the pilot or pilots during all the phases of a flight.

  • Patent number: 7747666
Abstract: A block polyphase filter is constructed of a set of filter blocks having different filter functions, and being arranged for parallel processing of portions of an input sequence of signals. Signals of the input sequence are divided among the blocks by a demultiplexer for processing at a clock frequency lower than a clock frequency of the input signal sequence. The filter blocks are arranged in groups, wherein output signals of the blocks in any one group are summed to produce an output signal of the filtered group. Output signals of all of the filter groups are multiplexed to provide an output signal sequence wherein the repetition frequency of the signals may be higher, lower, or equal to the repetition frequency of the input signal sequence depending upon the ratio of the number of filter groups to the number of filter blocks in the set of filter blocks.

  • Patent number: 7727366
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fluid sealing a workpiece retained by a workpiece holder are described. A pressure differential can be formed across a fluid seal to counteract fluid attempting to penetrate the fluid seal, which can contaminate the underside of the workpiece. The apparatus can include a ring forming a barrier to fluid entry with the workpiece and a source providing pressure to form the pressure differential. The pressure or the pressure differential can counteract hydroscopic fluid pressure or hydrostatic fluid pressure that is acting to force fluid through the barrier between the ring and the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 7722747
Abstract: A method and apparatus for retaining a workpiece against a workpiece holder are described. A flexible member can be used to provide a substantially uniform force to securely retain the workpiece, which can allow the workpiece to be consistently positioned in a process module. In one detailed embodiment, a barrier to fluid entry is formed between the workpiece and a ring for retaining the workpiece against a workpiece holder. This provides a reliable seal during fluid processing to prevent fluid from reaching the underside of a workpiece. In various embodiments, the workpiece holder can be used to align a workpiece in a process module or to hold one or more workpieces in a configuration that allows for higher throughput.
