  • Patent number: 6409700
Abstract: Blood is withdrawn from a vein by a double lumen catheter that has an elongated tube with unitary outer walls. A longitudinal planar septum divides the interior of the tube into an inlet lumen and a longer return lumen. The inlet lumen extends from a proximal end of the tube to an end terminating in a distally forward facing aperture. The return lumen extends contiguously with the inlet lumen from the proximal end of the tube to an end terminating in a distally forward facing aperture spaced in the longitudinal direction distally forward of the inlet lumen aperture. A diverting structure extends from an outer wall of the return lumen distally forward of the aperture of the inlet lumen. The diverting structure diverts flow of treated fluid discharged from the return lumen away from the distally forward facing aperture of the inlet lumen. The blood withdrawn via the catheter is circulated for treatment in a blood purification system.

Abstract: A tubular ozone generator comprises concentric inner tubular electrode/dielectric with inner electrode in intimate length-to-length contact with dielectric and outer tubular electrode with corona discharge zone between the inner tubular electrode/dielectric and outer tubular electrode. A dielectric of the inner tubular electrode/dielectric has a sealed end and an open end. The outer tubular electrode has an open exhaust end concentric with the sealed end of the dielectric and a closed end that forms a port with the open end of the dielectric. A tubular gas injector is situated within and concentric with the inner tubular electrode/dielectric and in conductive electrical contact with an electrode portion of the inner tubular electrode/dielectric. The sealed end of the dielectric is sealed with a transparent end cap to permit visual inspection of an electrode of the electrode/dielectric during operation of the generator.

  • Patent number: 6139809
Abstract: Ozone is generated by injecting a flow of oxygen or oxygen enriched air into a corona discharge zone formed between concentric inner tubular electrode/dielectric and outer tubular electrode. The dielectric of the tubular electrode/dielectric has a sealed end. The feed stream of oxygen or oxygen enriched air is injected by a tubular gas injector having an inlet end to accept the oxygen or oxygen enriched air and outlet end to inject the oxygen or oxygen enriched air within the inner concentric electrode/dielectric in proximity to the sealed end to flow the length of the inner concentric electrode/dielectric to the corona discharge zone for conversion of oxygen to ozone.

  • Patent number: 4188910
Abstract: A combination milk flow sensing and vacuum shut-off device comprises a housing defining a milk flow cavity with an inlet port through which milk can flow in freely as it comes from the teat cups and an outlet port of sufficient size such that milk can flow freely out of the milk flow cavity and not accumulate therein; a plunger within the milk flow cavity is suspended by means of a stem extending out of the cavity and attached to and operated by an air pressure cylinder piston unit in such a relationship that the piston unit drives the stem and plunger vertically within the milk flow cavity so that the cut-off plunger may engage with the seat of the milk flow outlet port to cut off milking vacuum or to disengage the seat of the port to admit vacuum; a milking sensor pedal is provided within the cavity and suspended directly beneath the inlet port by means of a pedal shaft extending through the wall of the cavity to support the pedal. The pedal shaft is pivotally mounted.
