Patent number: 5955705Abstract: A modular scale adapted to receive a rigid platform for supporting a weight has a frame having a base and a pair of legs extending from the base. The scale has a plurality of support assemblies adapted to be carried by the frame. Each support has at least one sensor wherein each sensor is adapted to provide a reference value and an output relative to a portion of the weight received. A display shows a numerical value corresponding to the composite sensor value. In a preferred embodiment the frame is generally "U"-shape. The frame defines a central open area between the legs, wherein legs from other modular scales can be placed in the central open area of the modular scale for shipping. Patent number: 5943322Abstract: Personal communications in a code division multiple access system operated without a base is provided with simultaneous transmission of a communications channel and a control channel, each spread by different PN codes. The PN code facilitates restricting communications on the network to a particular conversation mode and between identified radios. Transmissions are performed in a time division duplex manner in 62.5 milliseconds slots. One of the radios initiates transmission and maintains power control and time synchronization normally done by a base station. A network control station can voluntarily or by command transfer control of the network to any of the other radios on the network. Colliding transmissions from more than one radio require the radios to retry transmitting until one of the radios transmits in an earlier time slot.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1996Date of Patent: August 24, 1999Assignee: ITT Defense, Inc.Inventors: Michael A. Patent number: 5926906Abstract: The invention relates to a wind deflector for fastening to the main bracket of a wiper blade with openings in its spine, whereby fastening is accomplished with first fastening sections for screwing and additional second fastening sections for locking at the side wall of the main bracket that is in front in the direction of travel. Second fastening sections are in each case made from two surfaces that face one another a short distance apart and are connected to one another at the upper edge, one surface of which has a catching projection at the lower edge which can engage under the lower edge of the side wall of the main bracket. To increase the strength or stability of second fastening section or the connection of wind deflector and the wiper blade, one of the two walls of fastening section is wider, at least at its lower edge, than the other and in each case has a catching projection in the laterally projecting areas.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1996Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Assignee: ITT Automotive Europe, GmbHInventors: Jurgen Bommer, Siegfried Waible, Eckhardt Schmid
