Abstract: A substrate has a disk-like shape with a thickness of about 1.2 mm, and a diameter of D1, and further a central hole of diameter D2. A signal recording layer is formed on the substrate, and further a transparent sheet, through which a laser beam passes to record and reproduce information, is stacked up on the signal recording layer. The transparent sheet has a circular shape with a diameter d1, and the central hole thereof has a diameter d2. In a size-relationship of these diameters, d1 is formed to be smaller than D1, and d2 is formed to be larger than D2. In the other words, the transparent sheet, which is attached on the substrate so as to cover the signal recording layer, has outer and inner ends being positioned inside both an outer peripheral end of the substrate and a peripheral end of the central hole, so that a damage such as tearing off the peripheral end of the transparent sheet can be avoided since the peripheral end is inwardly apart from a finger-touch-area.
Abstract: In a vehicle operation assist control system for assisting a vehicle operator to operate a vehicle, a distance to the obstacle and a width of the obstacle are detected by a radar or the like, and, when an obstacle is detected, the system determines an evasion path and accordingly modifies the map information available to the system. Therefore, the system, being aware of the situation, would not interfere with the vehicle operator taking an evasive action. The evasive path may be defined as a curvature which changes as a sinusoidal mathematical function of the position of the vehicle along the path. The control system may be based on a yaw rate control or a vehicle side slip angle control.
Abstract: A collision avoiding system is provided to enhance a collision avoiding effect by stabilizing a vehicle behavior during automatic braking. Steering controlling apparatus includes not only an ordinary electric power steering control unit but also an active steering reaction calculating unit for driving a motor of a steering system to compensate for the influence of disturbances, if the vehicle is shocked by an unusual bounce from an uneven road or the like. When obstacle detecting apparatus such as a laser-radar detects an obstacle which requires operation of automatic braking, a control parameter changing unit receives the automatic braking activating signal to make a change in the control parameters for an active steering reaction control.

said process being characterized in that the iodination reaction is carried out operating at a temperature from 180° C. to 260° C.
Abstract: A method and a device for rejecting a defective filter bag for infusion products in a manufacturing machine are disclosed. When a defect or fault in the filter bag is detected by sensors while the filter bag is being completed, the end portion of the defective filter bag is deformed out of the reach of the intermediate pick-up station by the deformer so as to prevent the defective filter bag from being picked up and transferred to the subsequent stacking station and the defective filter bag is then expelled by the expeller.

Abstract: Conventionally, in an electrical device having an output transistor for limiting an input current to produce an output current and a bypass capacitor connected to the output side of the output transistor, the waveform of the current that charges the bypass capacitor cannot be adjusted without varying the capacitance of the bypass capacitor. In an electrical device embodying the invention, the waveform of the current that charges the bypass capacitor can be adjusted by varying the limit value of the output current without varying the capacitance of the bypass capacitor.
Abstract: 3,4-dihydroxybenzonitrile useful as a starting compound for synthesis of medicines and agricultural chemicals is produced, with a high yield by chlorinating 3,4-methylenedioxybenzonitrile with sulfuryl chloride or a mixture of molecular chlorine with a chlorination-promoter including phosphorus trichloride, phosphorus pentachloride, sulfuryl chloride, thionyl chloride, and/or nitrosyl chloride, to prepare 2-chloro-benzo[1,3]dioxole-5-carbonitrile, and hydrolyzing 2-chloro-benzo[1,3]dioxole-5-carbonitrile by contacting it with water to produce 3,4-dihydroxybenzonitrile.

Abstract: A process for producing a friction plate having a flat friction surface includes a step of provisionally arranging a plurality of sector-shaped lining segments punched out of a friction lining tape material, in a generally annular form on an index table so as not to overlap with each other, a step of correcting the provisional arrangement of the lining segments into an annular form having no gaps between the lining segments by moving together the plurality of lining segments, provisionally arranged on the index table, towards the centre of the index table and a step of adhering the plurality of lining segments, correctly arranged in the annular form, to a surface of a core plate. A friction plate having a flat friction surface can thereby be obtained with low cost.
Abstract: A vehicle gaseous fuel supply system includes a high pressure filter, a primary pressure-reducing valve, a solenoid cut-off valve, safety means, and a secondary pressure-reducing valve. A regulator is formed by disposing the high pressure filter, the solenoid cut-off valve, and the primary pressure-reducing valve on a common regulator body that has a passage providing a connection between the high pressure filter and the solenoid cut-off valve, a passage providing a connection between the solenoid cut-off valve and the primary pressure-reducing valve, and an exit passage having one end connected to the primary pressure-reducing valve. Between the safety means and the secondary pressure-reducing valve which are connected to the other end of the exit passage, at least the secondary pressure-reducing valve has its valve housing formed as a body separate from the regulator body.

The photo mask in turn permits the fabrication of a semiconductor device having a fine pattern.
Abstract: A steering actuator is prevented from generating excess steering torque that gives an uncomfortable feeling to a driver who is holding a steering wheel when a collision between a vehicle and an oncoming vehicle is avoided by automatic steering by the actuator. When there is a possibility of a collision between the vehicle and an oncoming vehicle, the collision with the oncoming vehicle is avoided by supplying a lateral movement control current having a sinusoidal shape to the actuator of an electric power steering device to move the vehicle laterally. The yaw angle of the vehicle is detected by integrating the yaw rate simultaneously with the start of the lateral movement, and in order to return the vehicle attitude of the vehicle to its original state by converging the yaw angle to 0 in the final stage of the lateral movement, a yaw angle correction control current is superimposed on the lateral movement control current and supplied to the actuator.

Abstract: A method of computing a belt tension distribution based on a multibody modeling method for the metal pushing V-Belt for CVTs. In order to reduce the complexity of the model, the ring is modeled as a virtual element that exists only as the second order differential equation. The virtual ring concept relies upon the instant locations and orientations of the blocks to compute total length, local bending, block-to-ring friction distribution, and friction-induced tension distribution of the ring. Simulation results show a good agreement with experimental results both in ring tension distribution and block compression distribution along the belt.
