  • Patent number: 6459319
Abstract: The variable delay circuit has a delay circuit and a selector. The delay circuit is formed of a plurality of delay stages connected in cascade. The delay circuit receives an input signal at the initial delay stage and respectively outputs a delayed signal which is the input signal delayed, from the delay stages. The selector receives the delayed signals and selecting signals respectively corresponding to the delayed signals. The selector selects the delayed signal corresponding to an activated selecting signal and outputs the selected signal as a delayed output signal. The delay stage(s) subsequent to the delay stage outputting the delayed signal selected by the selector is/are inactivated. Not operating unnecessary delay stages can prevent wasteful power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6459749
Abstract: A fuel rod extracting machine which can extract the fuel rods one by one from a Korean type 17×17 Light Water Reactor fuel assembly comprises a multi-functional rotary head including a camera for measuring the positions of the fuel rods and securing nuts being fastened on the bottom end piece of fuel assembly, an impact wrench for unfastening the securing nuts, and a gripper for gripping and extracting the fuel rods one by one. All of these are installed on a single rotary disc, which is driven by a tool rotating motor, at intervals of 90 degrees. To improve the reliability and safety in using the multi-functional rotary head, a load cell and a remote compliance center are installed at the rear of the gripper. The load cell monitors a state of insertion of the fuel rod into a collet and measures a fuel rod extracting force. The remote compliance center provides the smooth insertion of the fuel rod onto the collet, even though there exists a small misalignment between them.

  • Patent number: 6454645
Abstract: An air conditioner outlet vent device in which one of a blade and a housing is molded as a primary molding having a shaft hole by primary injection using a first synthetic resin, the other is molded, within a secondary mold die where the primary molding has been set, as a secondary molding having a support shaft by secondary injection using a second synthetic resin so that the shaft hole and the support shaft are fitted together at the same time as they are molded, thereby enabling the blade to pivot within the housing. The first and second synthetic resins are of the same synthetic resin system, and an additive for suppressing shrinkage in cooling and solidifying it after injection molding is added to the first synthetic resin so that the percentage mold shrinkage of the shaft hole becomes smaller than that of the support shaft.
