  • Patent number: 6679232
Abstract: A mixer for a multicylinder gas engine is provided in which a plurality of intake passages extend to a plurality of cylinders. A plurality of gaseous fuel nozzles, each having a nozzle orifice opening in a venturi part of the corresponding intake passage, are provided in a mixer main body. The plurality of gaseous fuel nozzles are connected to a gaseous fuel supply device, wherein a common surge tank housing the plurality of gaseous fuel nozzles and having a fuel intake pipe opening therein is provided on the mixer main body. The fuel intake pipe extends to the gaseous fuel supply device. Intake pressure pulsations that have passed through the gaseous fuel nozzles are attenuated within the surge tank, thereby achieving uniform distribution of a gaseous mixture to each cylinder, minimizes the number of parts, and prevents fluctuations in the fuel concentration of the gaseous mixture.

  • Patent number: 6680865
Abstract: In a non-volatile memory, the source potential of a selected cell transistor to be programmed is controlled to be changed in accordance with a distance between a program voltage generator connected to a bit line and to the selected cell transistor. When the distance between the selected cell transistor and the program voltage generator is a first distance, the source potential at the selected cell transistor is controlled to be a first potential, and when the distance between them is a second distance longer than the first distance, the source potential at the selected cell transistor is controlled to be a second potential higher than the first potential. As a result, the drain-source voltage at the selected cell transistor to be programmed can be optimized, and optimization of the programming can be implemented.

  • Patent number: 6677089
Abstract: (S12) A reference forward scattering intensity &egr;p is determined as equal to such a slice level that by adjusting the width of a pattern having the minimum width included in a block pattern repeatedly used and collectively exposed, the slice level that is in the range of 30 to 70% of the peak value of a forward scattering intensity distribution of the pattern becomes equal to the design width of the pattern. (S15) in each pattern in the block pattern a pattern width is adjusted such that the width of a forward scattering intensity distribution at &egr;p becomes equal to the design width of the pattern. Further, a collected exposure dose Qcp is determined such that Qcp(&egr;p+&agr;p′&eegr;)=Eth holds, where Eth is a threshold value for pattern developing, q is a backscattering coefficient and &agr;p′ is an effective pattern area density.

  • Patent number: 6677648
Abstract: A silicon oxide film (1701) serving as a gate insulating film of a semiconductor device contains Kr. Therefore, the stress in the silicon oxide film (1701) and the stress at the interface between silicon and the silicon oxide film are relaxed, and the silicon oxide film has a high quality even though it was formed at a low temperature. The uniformity of thickness of the silicon oxide film (1701) on the silicon of the side wall of a groove (recess) in the element isolating region is 30% or less. Consequently, the silicon oxide film (1701) has its characteristics and reliability superior to those of a silicon thermal oxide film, and the element isolating region can be made small, thereby realizing a high-performance transistor integrated circuit preferably adaptable to an SOI transistor and a TFT.

  • Patent number: 6675765
Abstract: Rotary type fluid machine includes a casing 7, a rotor 31 and a plurality of vane-piston units U1-U12 which are disposed in a radiate arrangement on the rotor 31. Each of the vane-piston units U1-U12 has a vane 42 sliding in a rotor chamber 14 and a piston 41 placed in abutment against a non-slide side of the vane 42. When it functions as an expanding machine 4, the expansion of a high pressure gas is used to operate the pistons 41 thereby to rotate the rotor 31 via vanes 42 and the expansion of a low pressure gas caused by a pressure reduction in the high pressure gas is used to rotate the rotor 31 via the vanes 41. On the other hand, when it functions as a compressing machine, the rotation of rotor 31 is used to supply a low pressure air to the side of pistons 41 via vanes 42 and further, the pistons 41 are operated by the vanes 42 to convert the low pressure air to the high pressure air.

  • Patent number: 6676466
Abstract: A marine propulsion unit comprises a cylinder (1), a combustion chamber (2) extending from one end of the combustion chamber, a spark plug (8) provided in the combustion chamber (2), and a piston (5) mounted for reciprocating movement within the cylinder (1). A first port (9) is provided in the combustion chamber (2), and this is selectively openable independent of the position of the piston (5) within the cylinder (1). If the propulsion unit should be immersed in water so that the cylinder becomes flooded, the cylinder can be purged by opening the port (9) and moving the piston (5) so as to expel water through the port (9). Once all water has been expelled further movement of the piston causes gases in the cylinder to pass over the spark plug thus removing trapped water from the spark plug without the need to remove the spark plug from the engine to dry it.

  • Patent number: 6674098
Abstract: A light emitting device includes a silicon substrate (1), a silicon nitride film (2) formed on the surface of the silicon substrate (1), at least an n-type layer (3), (4) and a p-type layer (6), (7) which are formed on the silicon nitride film (2) and also which are made of a ZnO based compound semiconductor, and a semiconductor layer lamination (11) in which layers are laminated to form a light emitting layer. Preferably this silicon nitride film (2) is formed by thermal treatment conducted in an atmosphere containing nitrogen such as an ammonium gas. Also, in another embodiment, a light emitting device is formed by growing a ZnO based compound semiconductor layer on a main face of a sapphire substrate, the main face being perpendicular to the C-face thereof. As a result, it is possible to obtain a device using a ZnO based compound with high properties such as an LED very excellent in crystallinity and having a high light emitting efficiency.

  • Patent number: 6672352
Abstract: In a tube whose internal space is partitioned by a partition wall to formed an air chamber filled with air and a sealant chamber filled with a sealant, the ratio R (R=B/A) of the length B of an outer circumference of the tube accommodated in the tire and expanded by filling of air to the length A of an outer circumference of the tube in an unexpanded is set in a range of 100% to 110%. Thus, the tension of the partition wall at the time when the tube has been expanded is suppressed to a small extent. Even if the partition wall of the tube gets a punctured wound, the partition wall having only a small tension applied thereto has a weak tendency to be intended to be contracted toward the air chamber. Therefore, little, if any, of the air in the air chamber flows into the sealant chamber and thus, a reduction in sealing performance of the sealant due to the mixture with the air is prevented.
