  • Patent number: 5802906
Abstract: Machine used for folding, profiling and cutting metal sheets includes a fixed support structure (1) holding a lower presser element (3), on which the sheet (4) rests, and an associated upper mobile presser element (5). Together, the presser elements (3, 5) keep the sheet (4) pressed in a proper horizontal plane. The machine further includes a mobile structure (7) having a C-shaped cross section which defines a channel (2) of longitudinal orientation. This C-shaped structure holds a pair of holding blades (8-9) which perform the folding of the sheet (4) when the same C-shaped structure is raised and lowered or made to advance or withdraw with respect to the sheet (4). In the interior of the channel (2) at least one removable tool holding group (10-11) is situated. This permits repositioning of the tool holding group along the longitudinal course of the channel (2).

  • Patent number: 5804483
Abstract: In a method for producing a channel region layer in a SiC-layer for producing a voltage controlled semiconductor device n-type dopants and p-type dopants are implanted into a near-surface layer of the SiC layer. The p-type dopants implanted have a higher diffusion rate in SiC than the n-type dopants implanted. The SiC-layer is then heated at such a temperature that p-type dopants implanted diffuse from the near-surface layer into the surrounding regions of the SiC-layer being lightly n-doped to such a degree that a channel region layer in which p-type dopants dominates is created.

  • Patent number: 5804922
Abstract: The spectral energy characteristic of a discharge lamp is controlled by changing the density of the fill substance. The spectral characteristic can be shifted while substantially maintaining its shape by changing the density of the fill. A sulfur or selenium containing discharge lamp which is operated at a pressure of at least about 1 atmosphere contains a low ionization potential substance in the fill. Characteristics which are improved are one or more of spatial color uniformity, extinguishing characteristics, and bulb starting reliability. Particular substances which are added to the fill are alkalai metal containing substances, III B metal containing substances, and alkaline earth metal containing substances. When light is reflected back into the bulb, the light which is re-emitted is stronger in the higher wavelengths.

  • Patent number: 5802712
Abstract: An electronic device includes a substrate, a chip attached thereon, and a molded body formed on the substrate for sealing the chip on the substrate. The electronic device further includes bumps formed at the underside of the substrate for connection to electrodes of a printed board. In an electronic device mounting method, a first correlation between a magnitude of warp of the electronic device and a heating temperature of the electronic device is derived. The warp is caused by a difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the molded body and the substrate. In the method, a second correlation between the magnitude of warp of the electronic device and a failure rate of coupling between the bumps and the electrodes is further derived. The method further derives, based on the first and second correlations, a heating temperature which causes no coupling failure between the bumps and the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5804217
Abstract: Porous cellulose matrices with a defined particle size and a significantly higher porosity (i.e. pore volume) than conventional formulations, such as pellet formulations containing cellulose and binders are prepared. The cellulose is mechanically treated with low adhesion to the process equipment during a controlled gradual addition of an aqueous based fluid, optionally containing a surface-active ingredient, into regular particles, which are finally dried to obtain dry porous cellulose matrices. The so obtained matrices can be used as carriers for bioactive substances in multiple-unit preparations or tablets.

  • Patent number: 5805218
Abstract: A three-dimensional resolution chart is used to adjust the position of a solid-state image detector 4 in a given image-forming optical system. A plurality of blocks 10a are provided on an upper surface of a resolution chart 10. Each block 10a has an adjusting pattern A-D depicted on a slant surface thereof. An image of each adjusting pattern A-D is formed-on the solid-state image detector 4 through a master lens 2. The contrast integration value F is calculated based on the image of the adjusting pattern at each of a plurality of designated areas hj (j=1 - - - n) on the slant surface of each block 10a provided on the resolution chart 10, to find out a specific position on each block where the contrast integration value F becomes maximum, thereby identifying the specific position as focus point of the master lens 2. The back focus of the solid-state image detector 4 is calculated based on thus obtained focus point. An optimum gradient (.alpha., .beta.

  • Patent number: 5802081
Abstract: Information is divided into first blocks each having m bits, and n bit or bits in each of S different states are added to a head of each of the first blocks to change the first block into S second blocks each having m+n bits, where m and n denote predetermined natural numbers and S denotes a predetermined natural number equal to or smaller than 2.sup.n. Each of the S second blocks is pre-coded into S pre-coded information blocks respectively. One of the S pre-coded information blocks is selected as a modulation-resultant information signal in response to error signals related to the S pre-coded information blocks respectively. The modulation-resultant information signal has q different notch frequencies. The S pre-coded information blocks are converted into S amplitude signals representing amplitude values respectively. A set of q first waveform signals and a set of q second waveform signals are generated. The q first waveform signals represent waveforms related to the q notch frequencies respectively.

  • Patent number: 5802068
Abstract: By constructing a plurality of packs from a first packet including first data having a high bit rate and a second packet including second data having a low bit rate, when the first data and the second data are multiplexed, it is first detected whether a data length of second data is smaller than a maximum data length of second packet or not. Subsequently, when it is detected that the data length of second data is smaller than the maximum data length of second packet, one pack is constructed by a redundancy data packet including redundancy data of a data length which is equal to a difference between the maximum data length of second packet and the data length of second data and the second packet.
