Abstract: The present invention relates to a structure (7) for a lip (4a) of an air inlet (4) of a turbojet pod (1) including an outer skin (12), designed to be oriented towards the outside of the lip, and an inner skin (13), designed to be oriented towards the inside of the lip, characterized in that it includes at least one electric heating element (14) situated between the inner skin and the outer skin and capable of being connected to an electric supply (15, 16), and the at least one electric heating element extending at least partly through an acoustic attenuation zone having perforations (11) passing through the structure and associated with an acoustic attenuation structure (30) fitted to the inner skin.
Abstract: The process utilizes the adsorbent column system as a treatment after chemical refining or before physical refining rather than water or filtration, respectively, to remove soaps and other impurities entrained in a crude triacylglycerol. The CDTAG or ORTAG is contacted with an adsorbent packed into a column, or multiple columns in series, for a sufficient amount of time to remove impurities such as, but not limited to, soaps, metals, chlorophyll, and many of the other compounds that reduce the stability of the TAG. The resulting TAG exiting the column(s) is ready for the deodorization process. Once the adsorbent no longer removes the desired amount of impurities, it is regenerated for reuse. Such a continuous regenerable adsorbent refining process substantially reduces the amount of fresh water required and the amount of waste water generated to purify TAG and reduces the amount of solid waste produced.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a video camera recorder or the like, capable of flexibly meeting user demands for image quality, recording time, etc. When recording information on a rewritable optical recording medium, the recording mode for the optical recording medium is selected at least from between write-once and rewritable based on a set recording rate. Before recording, the recording status of the optical recording medium is also determined at least between an unrecorded area and a recorded area.
Abstract: A recording method suitable for high-density recording is provided to increase the reproduction quality. An optical information recording method is for recording information on an optical recording medium by irradiation of a write pulse of a laser beam to perform reproduction in a production system using a PRML detection scheme. The method includes recording a recording mark by a single write pulse, when the total length of the recording mark to be recorded and a space adjacent to the recording mark is less than a diameter of an effective reproduction spot, being 0.82×(?/NA), where ? is a wavelength of a reproduction laser beam and NA is a numerical aperture.
Abstract: An optical recording medium including recording and reading layers and a servo layer increases the recording capacity thereof. In the optical recording medium including the plurality of recording and reading layers and the servo layer, the servo layer has a groove and a land that can be used to perform tracking control with a long-wavelength servo beam. Information is recorded on the recording and reading layers with a recording and reading beam having a wavelength shorter than the wavelength of the servo beam. Recording marks are formed on the recording and reading layers while both the groove and land are tracked.
Abstract: The teacher's strategies tool apron of the present invention provides easy access and organization to the tools needed to enhance any instructional segment and promote student retention in PreK to 8th grade. The “tools of the trade” are located in the appropriately matched pockets of the apron, paired with researched best practices education strategies. Together they maximize the attention and involvement of the learning audience while simultaneously giving easy access and organization to the tools themselves to the presenter. The pockets have a signifying visual cue logo identifying the purpose of the tool that goes into that pocket and create a memory map for the presenter. When worn by the presenter the aprons bring the focus of the presentation's participants to its wearer.

Abstract: Solar tracker with a principal substructure comprising a series of posts between which sections of beams are arranged, joined by intermediate axles and which can turn in respect of a longitudinal axle; it is also provided with secondary substructures comprising a frame for attachment of the solar panels which rotate in respect of an axle transversal to the longitudinal and with connection parts between the frames and the beams, and in respect of which they are articulated, with the frames being activated by connecting rods joined to a common slide. The centre of gravity of the structure overall is arranged such that it is very close to the longitudinal axle, which facilitates its actuation, reduces wind sensitivity and facilitates erection in addition to being provided with a certain degree of longitudinal tolerance, which enables better use to be made of land, as it is possible to achieve greater power per square meter.
Abstract: An abrasive has a plate shape with a flat surface, in which a maximum diameter of the flat surface thereof is in the range of 0.05 mm to 10 mm, and 1.5 to 100 times as the maximum diameter as thick of the abrasive, and the blast processing method is one in which this abrasive is ejected by being inclined at an incident angle with respect to a surface of a product to be treated. The ejected plate-shaped abrasive slides along the surface of the product to be treated while having the flat surface in slidable contact with the surface of the product to be treated which is an object surface to be treated, so that the surface of the product to be treated is flattened by removing the peaks only, without increasing the depth of the valleys of the roughness curve.

Abstract: A signal quality evaluation method is provided that can objectively evaluate signal quality regardless of a PRML detection method used. The signal quality evaluation method is used when recording and reading is performed by irradiating a medium with a laser beam having a wavelength of ? through an objective lens having a numerical aperture of NA. In the signal quality evaluation method, information of the difference between an ideal signal recoded in the medium and a real signal obtained by irradiating the medium with the laser beam is statistically analyzed for each signal level of the ideal signal. The evaluation of the quality of the real signal is made using the statistics obtained by the statistical analysis.
Abstract: An electrophoresis apparatus is generally disclosed for sequentially analyzing a single sample or multiple samples having one or more analytes in high or low concentrations. The apparatus comprises a relatively large-bore transport capillary which intersects with a plurality of small-bore separation capillaries and includes a valve system. Analyte concentrators, having antibody-specific (or related affinity) chemistries, are stationed at the respective intersections of the transport capillary and separation capillaries to bind one or more analytes of interest. The apparatus allows the performance of two or more dimensions for the optimal separation of analytes. The apparatus may also include a plurality of valves surrounding each of the analyte concentrators to localize each of the concentrators to improve the binding of one or more analytes of interest.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated RFID card holder, cage, lid or rack and system for collecting census, inventorying, and tracking of animal cages, lids, card holders, racks, and other related equipment. Preferably, the card holder is comprised of an RF transparent material such as plastic. During operation, a RFID reader reads each integrated RFID card holder attached to an animal cage for virtually linking the cage to an animal rack in effect assigning a parking spot to each animal cage within an animal cage rack system. The integrated RFID card holder can be determined to be in a room when the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is the highest comparing multiple reads from one or many antennas.

Abstract: A recording method for irradiating a multi-layered optical recording medium with a laser beam to record information thereon. The optical recording medium can form a first information recording layer that is the farthest from a light incident surface, a second information recording layer that is the second farthest from the light incident surface, and at least one third information recording layer that is located closer to the light incident surface than the second information recording layer is. The method is to record information on the second information recording layer when all the information recording layers other than the second information recording layer are either blank or have been completely recorded. This allows for realizing high-quality information recording in consideration of adherence of foreign matters or occurrence of scratches.
Abstract: Non-leguminous crops, e.g. wheat, maize and rice, do not form nodules and are dependant for their nutrition on fixed nitrogen from the soil, or from chemical/nitrogenous fertilizers. The present invention provides non-leguminous plants and leguminous plants, including legumes that fail to nodulate with Rhizobia, with bacteria that enable them to fix nitrogen endophytically. Therefore, the plants contain nitrogen fixing bacteria the bacteria being located intracellularly in living plant cells.
