  • Patent number: 6948284
Abstract: An all-directional damping and earthquake-resisting unit is fixed to a lower part of an object, such as a column of a building, and a foundation for the object, so that functionally different members of the unit normally bear the weight of the object. When there is an earthquake, round balls included in the unit automatically roll and rotate on ball restoring means provided on two ball carriers while a piston assembly automatically moves in a buffer space, so that an instantaneous impact by the earthquake energy and any earthquake-induced displacement are absorbed by the unit. The balls and the piston assembly finally automatically return to their original positions in the unit, enabling the object and the foundation thereof to always locate at the same place without the risk of deviating from their centers.

  • Patent number: 6936521
Abstract: An alignment mark is made of at least two nonparallel trenches having two reducing-width-to-zero ends. The displacement bias error, produced by a process bias error, of the centerlines of the trenches is zero where the width of the two trenches is zero. Hence, the alignment target on a substrate can be reproduced.

  • Patent number: 6932633
Abstract: A lug engagement structure for an electrical connector. The connector includes a plastic base formed with a receiving slot. The structure can engage with a lateral engagement hole of a circuit board inserted into the electrical connector. The structure includes a board removing component pivoted to the base and rotatable within the slot. A push block extending forward and pressing against the circuit board is arranged on a bottom of the component. A pressing portion and an engagement portion extending forward are arranged on a top of the component. The engagement portion engages with the lateral engagement hole of the circuit board, and the pressing portion can be elastically moved up and down and has a resistant plate. The base has an engagement arm elastically engaging with the component. When the pressing portion is pressed down, the resistant plate is caused to push the arm to separate from and disengage with the component.

  • Patent number: 6933493
Abstract: An image sensor includes a substrate, a metal sheet, a photosensitive chip, a plurality of wires, and a transparent layer. The substrate has a slot. The metal sheet is attached to the lower surface of the substrate and located under the slot to form a cavity together with the slot. The photosensitive chip is arranged within the cavity and mounted to the metal sheet. The wires electrically connect the photosensitive chip to the substrate. The transparent layer is arranged on the substrate to cover the photosensitive chip. Thus, the photosensitive chip may receive optical signals passing through the transparent layer.

  • Patent number: 6928842
Abstract: A combination lock comprises a first shackle, dials, a spring loaded member biased against the innermost dial, a second shackle comprising an inner arm, a moveable block pivotably coupled to the inner arm and including a spring and an opposite T-shaped slot, and a key opening mechanism aligned with the moveable block and comprising a shaft and a cross member. Inserting a key into the mechanism and turning the key will rotate the shaft and the cross member until the cross member is aligned with an opening of the slot such that pressing the second shackle will cause the inner arm to counterclockwise pivot about the member, move the moveable block outwards to compress the spring and dispose the cross member in the opening, and disengage the second shackle from the first shackle.

  • Patent number: 6928979
Abstract: A gas-economizing powerful engine speed increaser is made integral, and positioned fixedly in an air intake tube connected with the front end of an air intake manifold of an engine. The engine speed increaser consists of an outer circular tube, an inner circular tube of a shorter diameter than that of the outer tube and positioned in the center of the outer tube, and a plurality of twisted leaves positioned spaced apart equidistantly between the outer tube and the inner tube. Air sucked in an air intake tube by the engine started and under operation flows through the engine speed increaser to become swirl wind by the twisted leaves and partly straight wind flowing swiftly through the center hollow of the inner tube and then enter the combustion room of the engine.
