Patent number: 4540208Abstract: Apparatus for securing an emergency exit door includes a bolt for engaging a keeper, a dogging mechanism for dogging the bolt and a fluid throttling device disposed between the bolt and dogging mechanism. An electrical timer is connected to the dogging mechanism by a solenoid and starts to count upon an attempt to open the door. After a predetermined time interval has run, the electrical timer releases the dogging mechanism and allows the door to open. If the electrical timer fails to release the dogging mechanism, the door will still open if pushed due to operation of the fluid throttling device, which slowly shortens under pressure, allowing the bolt to clear the keeper. In order to readily align the keeper with the bolt, the keeper is loosely mounted and guided into alignment with the bolt by a bevelled guide. Upon being latched by the bolt, the keeper is held rigidly between the guide and the bolt.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1982Date of Patent: September 10, 1985Assignee: Reliable Security Systems, Inc.Inventors: Emanual L. Patent number: 4536677Abstract: A getter assembly is described which has an antenna mount in the form of a small bar placed along the diameter of an annular container. The antenna mount is formed in such a way as to touch the container only in areas near to the inner wall. In order to reduce to a minimum the points and the areas of contact between the antenna mount and the getter material container, the connection of these two elements is made by means of two diametrically opposite spot welds near to the internal wall of the annular container and longitudinally disposed along the mount. The mounting bar is preferably furnished with a downwardly dependent support member for maintaining the getter assembly away from the wall of the cathode ray tube in which it will be located.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 1983Date of Patent: August 20, 1985Assignee: Saes Getters S.p.A.Inventor: Franco Pirota

Patent number: 4535267Abstract: A getter assembly is described which has an improved support such that the points of contact with the glass wall of a cathode ray tube have as low a temperature as possible.A tab member for mounting the getter device is attached to the lower side of a central disc shaped zone of the getter device formed of an upraised bottom portion of the bottom wall of the ring getter. Said tab member extends without touching the inner side wall of the getter material container of its bottom wall. A support means is attached, for example by spot welding, to the tab member, and has at least two concave surfaces facing the bottom wall of the container and lying in a plane perpendicular to the outwardly extending zone of the tab member. The support means can be attached to the tab in the same area as which the tab is attached to the central zone of the upraised bottom portion of the container.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 1983Date of Patent: August 13, 1985Assignee: SAES Getters S.p.A.Inventors: Daniele Martelli, Giuseppe Lani

Patent number: 4515028Abstract: A multi-speed drive has input and output shafts aligned on a first axis and connected to one another by a cone drive which has a plurality of conical surfaces sloped at various angles to form a "composite" cone. The composite cone is connected to the input shaft by a crank and rotates about a second axis which is oblique to, but intersects, the first axis at a point of intersection which is also a point of coincidence of the apexes of the conical surfaces. The composite cone rolls on one of a plurality of annular, conical surfaces, each of which is aligned with one of the conical surfaces on the cone. In accordance with the illustrated embodiment, all of the annular surfaces are free to rotate with respect to the composite cone, with the exception of the single annular surface that the composite cone rolls upon. This surface may be selected by stopping its rotation with a braking device, such as a pin or a prony brake.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1983Date of Patent: May 7, 1985Assignee: Frederick Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Roy E.
