Abstract: A textile fabric employs a corrugated synthetic flat yarn having a plurality of filaments arranged in side-by-side relationship and being integral with adjacent filaments. The tape is corrugated tape woven or knitted with other yarns in a flat, substantially untwisted attitude. The tape is fabricated without fibrillation but controlled splitting may occur during subsequent fabric sewing or stitching operations. The fabric is particularly suited for use as geotextiles, woven intermediate bulk containers, woven explosive bags, and strapping (webbing).
Abstract: An oriented film is prepared by crosslinking a sheet of polyethylene (preferably HDPE) containing particulate inorganic slip and antiblock additions to provide maximum crosslinking at the surfaces of the sheet and minimum orientation at its middle layer portion, and thereafter heating and stretching the film to obtain an oriented HDPE of high clarity film of improved moisture proof.
Abstract: Deposit formation on the contact surfaces of structures containing heated hydrocarbon fluids such as refinery units, particularly units associated with the distilling process such as preheating stages, is inhibited by incorporating in the feed stock from 0.0001 to 0.01 weight percent of thiophene-containing polycondensed aromatic/naphthenic compounds of number average molecular weight (Mn) from 200 to 1000 and if desired at least one other additive such as an oil-soluble dispersant, antioxidant, antipolymerant, antifoulant and mixtures thereof into said hydrocarbon stream.

The apparatus which simulates a cooling circuit for process streams which require the introduction of reagents to inhibit corrosion includes a primary condenser with automatic cooling control and more than one serially connected cooling-monitoring section, associated means for monitoring corrosion rate, temperature, and/or dewpoint and means for adjustibly controlling the process stream cooling rate of said cooling-monitoring sections. The process stream is flowed through said serial connected cooling-monitoring sections in order to cool the vapors in a manner which simulates cooling that will take place in a parallel connected heat exchanger unit.
