  • Patent number: 7992314
Abstract: An elevation measuring device comprises a measuring column at which a vertically movable measuring slide is supported, so it can be moved by hand and also by a drive motor through a clutch device. The measuring slide supports a scan head, which imparts a constant measuring force onto the measuring location at the work piece, which is generated by the drive motor and the clutch device. A measuring system detects the elevation coordinate of the scan head and hands said elevation coordinate to a control device for further processing and evaluation. The control device comprises logic for automating the measuring process. This logic automatically detects a positioning of the scan head in a certain direction, which is manually performed by the operator, subsequently controls the drive motor in a suitable manner in order to cause a scanning of the work piece and determines the measurement values.

  • Patent number: 7967880
Abstract: The fixed-bed gasifier and method in accordance with the invention operates with a solid material batch that is perfused by air and/or steam in opposing direction. Compared with the resultant pyrolysis coke batch, the actual pyrolysis zone is thin enough so as to result in a material dwell time in the pyrolysis zone of only a few minutes, while the dwell time of the pyrolysis coke in the pyrolysis coke layer may last up to several hours. The pyrolysis occurs in an allothermic manner. High-energy low-dust and low-tar gas is formed. The process control can be automated in a reliable manner. The exhaust of reaction gases and pyrolysis gases occurs through the heating chamber, whereby the last tar components are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 7959599
Abstract: The invention relates to a disposable injector with a housing, an injector-side, first cylinder-piston unit—at least intermittently fillable—arranged thereon and an upstream detachable container adapter, wherein the container adapter bears a likewise at least intermittently fillable second cylinder-piston unit. A solvent is stored in the first cylinder-piston unit. In the second cylinder-piston unit there is a freeze-dried active pharmaceutical ingredient. Immediately before use of the disposable injector the solvent is conveyed to the second cylinder-piston unit to the active pharmaceutical ingredient, where a solution forms. This solution is transfer-pumped into the first cylinder-piston unit to then be administered. The present invention develops a disposable injector which stores a liquid and an active ingredient in each case separately and sterilely and provides a space in which the active ingredient is dissolved for application in the liquid or mixed with the liquid.

  • Patent number: 7609744
Abstract: A simple and compact laser resonator is proposed which makes it possible to symmetrically operate a gain medium, preferably a semiconductor, which possesses more than one channel of emission. As a result higher output powers and/or better beam qualities and/or better spectral characteristics can be achieved. The resonator is very compact and ideally comprises only three optical elements: a laseractive gain medium (1), a cylindrical collimation lens (5), and a prism (6) which is adapted to the angle between the two emissions (4) and which carries a beam splitter (7) and a feedback mirror (9) on its faces. Preferably the gain medium (1) possesses a feedback element (2) and an antireflective coating (3) on its faces. If no antireflective coating (11) is desired the same effect can be achieved by arranging the angle of incidence to fulfill the Brewster-condition.

  • Patent number: 7555859
Abstract: A sign system particularly useful for point of purchase advertising that is elevated above the reach of shoppers. A slideable sign frame assembly carrying a sign is slideably attached to a normally hidden sign frame assembly supporting apparatus. The sign frame assembly and the supporting apparatus both carry pairs of cooperating slots of predetermined dimensions and configuration that together with a plurality of bolts, one for each slot, provide for the sign frame assembly and the supporting apparatus to be physically connected to one another while at the same time permit movement of the sign assembly relative to the supporting apparatus in the vertical direction. The bolts in cooperation with associated slots permit the raising and lowering of the sign assembly for change-out of the sign from ground level. A sign change-out tool is used to raise and lower the sign assembly.

  • Patent number: 7546787
Abstract: A dynamic spindle adjustment permitting an adjustment movement for the compensation of a wobble of the body held by the work spindle is provided on the spindle bearing of a machine tool. The regulation is designed at least dynamically enough for the regulation to permit a reliable tracking of the rotating work spindle. As a result of this, one or more spindles can be moved relative to a stationary machine in such a manner that the path of a body held on the work spindle represents an ideal rotation about the desired body axis, that is, the axis of symmetry. The compensation motion can be achieved by energizing appropriate actuators of the bearing devices with sinusoidal and cosinusoidal adjustment signals, which are superimposed to produce a circular motion of the affected bearing device. This circular motion compensates for orbital motions of the misaligned body (7) held on the work spindle.

  • Patent number: 7545505
Abstract: The apparatus according to the invention comprises an object lens which can operate in at least two different measuring modes. In a first, interference mode a workpiece is measured by means of interference optometry. In a second, imaging measuring mode an optical image is produced, for example, on a camera-like detector array and may be applied to an image processing routine. Switching between the two measuring modes is performed by the type of illumination of the object lens and an element which is disposed preferably in the reference beam path of an interferometer and which activates or deactivates the reference beam path dependent on the spectral composition of the utilized light. In this manner a simple and rapid changeover between the two measuring modes is provided, without the need for replacing or even for moving the object lens.
