Abstract: An electrostatographic imaging member having a substrate support material which eliminates the need for an anticurl backing layer, a substrate support layer and a charge transport layer having a thermal contraction coefficient difference in the range of from −2×10−5/° C. to about +2×10−5/° C. a substrate support material having a Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) of at least 100° C., wherein the substrate support material is not susceptible to attack from the charge transport layer coating solution solvent and wherein the substrate support material is represented by the two structural formulas below:
wherein m, n, and q represent the degree of polymerization having a number from 10 to 300; and x, y, and z are integers; with x and y from 2 to 10 and z from 1 to 10. An electrostatographic imaging member containing this substrate support layer.
Abstract: A member including, for example, a supporting layer and a single photogenerating layer, the photogenerating layer comprising particles including hydroxygallium phthalocyanine phthalocyanine Type V, x polymorph metal free phthalocyanine, or chlorogallium phthalocyanine dispersed in a matrix comprising an arylamine hole transporter and an electron transporter selected from the group consisting of N,N′bis(1,2-dimethylpropyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic diimide, 1,1′-dioxo-2-(4-methylphenyl)-6-phenyl-4-(dicyanomethylidene)thiopyran, and a quinone selected from the group consisting of carboxybenzylhaphthaquinone, and tetra (t-butyl) diphenoquinone, and mixtures thereof, and submicrometer size polytetrafluroethylene particles, and a film forming binder.

Abstract: A diffraction grating head up display is disclosed which blocks solar radiation from impinging upon and washing out the image of display information on an optical display device. This is accomplished by means of a filter such an optical element made of photochromic material which is positioned between the display information surface and relay optics lenses, preferably at the back focal plane thereof, so that focused solar radiation darkens a localized spot in the photochromic material. The darkened spot blocks the solar energy but reversibly lightens after the focused solar energy is removed. This photochromic material allows substantially unimpeded transmittance of the image of the display information except at the darkened spot. Also included in the optical system are a folding reflector and a combiner lens element which combines and superimposes the image of the display information on the scene being viewed when an observer looks through the combiner element.
