  • Patent number: 6354638
Abstract: A bar-type closure for a door is provided. An actuating device is disposed on the outer surface of the door leaf and is rotatable between an opened and a closed position, with the rotational movement of the actuating device being convertible to longitudinal displacement of at least one locking rod that is guided parallel to the pivot axis of the door on the inner side of the door leaf thereof. The actuating device is provided with a hand lever that is pivotable outwardly about a hinge line axis oriented parallel to the pivot axis of the door and to the direction of displacement of the locking rod. The enlargement of the spacing between the hand lever and the door leaf, when the hand lever pivots, is converted into displacement of the locking rod into its release position by means of a Z-shaped drive lever that is disposed between the door leaf and the hand lever. One end of the drive lever is non-displaceably mounted in a first journal on an inner surface of the hand lever that faces the door leaf.

Abstract: A joint or articulation (1), especially for connecting sidepieces of a multi-purpose ladder that can be folded up, has two joint legs (2, 3) that are pivotable relative to one another about a joint shaft (4). One of the joint legs (2) forms an outer joint portion having outer shells (7) and a joint connector (8), while the other joint leg (3) is embodied as an inner joint portion having inner disks (9) and joint connectors (10). A spring-loaded locking member (24) is movable essentially radially or tangentially relative to the joint shaft (4) and is engageable in at least one recessed portion (42) of one joint leg (2). In order to achieve a simpler construction of the joint or articulation (1), recessed portions (12) are provided in the inner disk (9), whereby the locking member (24) extends transverse to the plane of the inner disk through the recessed portions (12). • Patent number: 6327950
Abstract: A longitudinal cutting machine having a plurality of blade holders disposed on at least one traverse that extends over the length of the longitudinal cutting machine is provided. So that the blade holders can each be removed independently of one another from the traverse, the individual blade holders are releasably mounted by two spaced-apart claws on associated profiled members that are mounted on the traverse. One of the claws is movable relative to the blade holder and can be fixed in position by means of an adjusting unit. When the adjusting unit is loosened, then by pivoting of the blade holder about one of the two claws, which pivoting is made possible by a deflecting movement of the movable claw, the other claw is released from the associated profiled member and the blade holder is removable from the traverse.

  • Patent number: 6327904
Abstract: A method for determining the tread depth of a vehicle tire during driving includes the step of determining the angle of a radially outer tire location relative to hub-based a coordinate system based of the vehicle tire by a sensor fastened to the vehicle. A signal containing harmonic oscillation sent by the sensor is then analyzed and, based on the signal, the resonant frequency is determined corresponding to the torsional oscillation component of the tire belt relative to the wheel. The mass moment of inertia of the tire belt about the axis of rotation is then computed based on the torsional stiffness of the tire sidewall and the determined resonant frequency. The actual mass and changes of the tire diameter are then calculated based on the computed mass moment of inertia and based on a mass function of the vehicle tire that is a function of the tire diameter. The loss of tread depth is then calculated based on the changes of the tire diameter.
