Abstract: A rapidly deploying emergency evacuation stretcher includes an article for easy transport on one's person, wherein the article is characterized to include a first mode of utility and a second mode of utility, and the article includes a lightweight flexible member which is packed in an undeployed mode and disposed adjacent the article in a manner which cooperates with the article in a manner to enable the first mode of utility substantially without interference thereof and unpacked in its deployed state and cooperates with the article in a manner to provide the second mode of utility which includes forming the stretcher. A method uses the rapidly deploying emergency evacuation stretcher to transport a person.

Abstract: An electrochemical reactor and process for electrolyzing a substance to change at least a portion of the substance from a first state to a second state. The reactor comprises a tubular body having a first end portion defining an opening and a second end portion defining an electrolysis chamber. The electrolysis chamber includes a well adapted to hold the substance and at least two electrodes for electrolyzing the substance in the well. The volume of the well is less than about 3 milliliters. The reactor further comprises a coupling for releasably and sealingly connecting the reactor body to an auxiliary device body. The coupling is adapted to provide a vacuum tight seal between the reactor body and the auxiliary device and to allow the reactor body to rotate about an axis of rotation independent of the auxiliary device while the reactor body is sealingly connected to the auxiliary device.

Abstract: A system for selectively and automatically compressing and decompressing data in a manner such that the data file can be rendered in a pseudo-native form and such that a rendering application program can be invoked by the system includes a first computer-based device having software thereon for determining whether a data file is one of a native uncompressed form and compressed form upon one of attaching, detaching, receiving, rendering and accessing the data file. Software compresses the native uncompressed form of the data into an attachment, and software for enhancingly renders the attachment to a viewer in a pseudo-native form, wherein the attachment remains compressed and is rendered to appear as being in a native-uncompressed form.

Abstract: A system for obtaining associated personal data of a person attending a reception site in order to provide a response to such person includes a computer operably disposed at the reception site having operating software thereon and follow-up software for receiving personal name and address information data for the person and event data and storing for subsequent retrieval the personal name and address information data and the event data in a memory of the computer and camera operably associated with the computer and the follow up software for acquiring an image data of the person such that the follow-up software stores for subsequent retrieval the image data in a manner to be associated with the personal name and address information data in a memory of the computer based device. A method is also provided.

Abstract: A road vehicle actuated energy device for use in a path of a vehicle includes an actuator for transverse disposal in a cavity of a road across the path of the vehicle, wherein the actuator includes a bent member having a first end and a second end and when so disposed in the road the first end moves between a first position above the road and a second position below the first position, a rotatable drive shaft, a one-way clutch ring operably connected to the second end of the bent member wherein the one-way clutch ring has an inner opening configured to receive the drive shaft therethrough and engage the drive shaft in a manner to cause one-way rotation thereof when the first end is moved from the first position to the second position and freely releases the drive shaft when moving from the second position to the first position and an energy generator operably connected to the drive shaft in a manner to generate energy upon rotation of the drive shaft.

Abstract: A system for user-directed acquisition over a wide area network includes a client computer, a database having information data relating to user-entered text of HTML pages, and a server computer having a program software stored on the storage device to receive a user-entered word data in a first language from the client, to receive a user-entered geographic search area data from said client, and wherein the program software is associated with software for generating a translation language pair data and for translating the word data in accordance with the language corresponding to the user entered geographic search area data, software for accessing said information data as a function of the translated word data, and software for transmitting the accessed information data to the client-computer. A method is also provided.

Abstract: An improvement in a chemical delivery system for a plunger lift for enhancing oil and gas recovery in a well having a well head and which employs a plunger includes a chamber communicably connected to a top of the well head and operably disposed thereon and including a ball check valve device which controls communication between a first section which receives chemicals therein for delivery into the well and a second section which communicates chemicals from the first section to a plunger in the well, and means for retaining the ball valve in one of an open position and a closed position as a function of the well being shut in.

Abstract: An energy and steel recovery system has a suspension column and a plurality of suspension burners operably disposed therein wherein the burners are laterally spaced from one another along the length of thereof. The suspension column includes a mechanism for receiving tires onto one of the burners and feeding the tired to an adjacent downwardly disposed burner to further combust the same. A first conduit includes a first end communicably connected to the suspension column and a second end communicably connected to a boiler wherein air flow passes from the boiler to the suspension column. A second conduit includes a first end communicably connected to the suspension column and a second end communicably connected to the boiler wherein air flow passes from the suspension column to the return air flow path of the boiler. The system includes a mechanism for removing residual waste materials from the suspension column.
