Abstract: A sanding block includes a compressible core having at least one pair of sides characterized such that an abrasive material is adhered to said sides substantially along the surface thereof and having a juncture area defined between said two sides which does not have said abrasive material adhered thereto such that the abrasive material does not run continuously about the sides of the core thereby providing the two sides to be readily compressed toward one another. A method of forming the same is also provided.

Abstract: A system for optimization of database replication/synchronization includes a first computer-based device having software thereon for obtaining a state of condition a database object and associating a unique identifier with such database object, for altering form of the data and associating another unique identifier with such altered database object, and for determining the database object using the unique identifiers. The system can receive a replication request for updating data from a second computer for a database object on the second computer wherein the request contains a unique identifier comparatively equating to one of the identifiers on the first computer and sends either an instruction to second computer to perform a like alteration on the data or to send the changes to the database object.

Abstract: A device for transporting and delivering chemical to interior walls of pipelines employs a pig having a tank which contains pressurized chemical therein. Operably connected to the tank is a nozzle which is equipped to deliver the chemical from the tank onto the inner pipeline walls as the pig is transported through the pipeline. The pig is equipped with a device to deliver the chemical at a predetermined point within the pipeline and includes a position tracking device to enable location thereof. A method of cleaning and treating a pipeline is also provided.

Abstract: A training aid for a baseball bat includes an outer portion and an inner core portion which is relatively rigid with respect to the outer portion, the aid is for placement against a bat handle having an arched outer surface which is of a size to extend along inside middle knuckles of one's fingers for purposes of providing knuckle alignment while permitting a substantial portion of one's fingers free to grip the bat handle to provide a tactile sensation of gripping the bat principally with one's fingers and not one's palms and, which when so gripped by a batter, the training aid provides knuckle alignment for each hand and promotes anatomical superior fluidity of motion in one's hands, wrists and arms during a swing.

Abstract: An improved headset for a helmet includes an acoustic component of a relatively small size to permit insertion thereof within the helmet, a relatively soft and comfortable textile material configured to removably contain the acoustic component, a connector for removably retaining the textile material to an inner portion of the helmet, and power supply for energizing the acoustic component causing emission of a sound wave. The textile material can be formed into a pouch.

Abstract: A pegboard tray for retaining food items during transportation includes a base support surface on which a food container of a predetermined height can be disposed and retained in a manner to prevent lateral movement, the base support surface having a plurality of peg receiving surfaces and a plurality of pegs, wherein each peg is removably disposed one the peg receiving surface about the food container and wherein pegs cooperate with each other in a manner to prevent the food container from moving laterally on the base support surface.

Abstract: A shunt device for use in a light socket includes a first semiconductor chip and a first container having a receiving surface for receiving the first semiconductor chip therein and having an open surface through which the first semiconductor chip is exposed and a first conductive member connected having a first end connected to the first semiconductor chip through the open surface and a second end connected to a first of the terminals with the socket and wherein the container and the chip and the member are operatively interposed in a self retained manner between the terminals in the lower portion of the socket.

Abstract: A fuel bib which connects over and about gas tank filler tube door of a vehicle includes a semi-flexible plastic cover having an outer protective surface and an inner surface material which is made to removably adhere to the vehicle's body, a precut inner portion which is of a size and configuration substantially that of the gas tank filler tube door, wherein the precut inner portion, an outer remaining portion of the fuel bib surrounding the precut inner portion is intended to remain on the vehicle surrounding the fuel door, and at least one detachable portion interconnecting the precut inner portion and the outer remaining portion.

Abstract: A bracket for holding accessories on a boat includes a pair of mounting plates which are laterally spaced apart from one another and interconnected by a plurality of threaded screws and wing nuts, wherein the mounting plates have a set of aligned open through surfaces through which the screws extend and are retained by the nuts. Connected between the plates to the screw are a set of interconnecting plates which form a slot therebetween to removably receive a support plate which is configured to attach to an accessory. Each screw has a plastic sleeve thereabout serving as a spacer between one of the mounting plates and the remaining interconnecting plates and wherein each spacer is approximately the width of a rail of a boat.

Abstract: A piston-cam engine includes a drive cylinder, a drive piston operably disposed therein having a piston head and a shaft, a support frame having a drive shaft rotatably movably connected thereto, a cam connected to the drive shaft having a peripheral surface and having a plurality of lobes thereon, a roller member connected to the piston shaft and adapted for engagement with the peripheral surface of the cam, and a biasing element for biasing the roller member continuously against the peripheral surface of the cam.

Abstract: A device for aiding installation of suspended ceilings includes a first cross member having an upper face to be disposed adjacent a bottom face of a main-tee and a second cross member extending from the first cross member at 90° and having a an upper face to be disposed adjacent a bottom face of a cross-tee. The first cross member has an upwardly extending retention lip having a slot formed therein to frictional receive a portion of the main-tee in a manner to retain the device thereagainst. The second cross member has an upwardly extending guide lip which in conjunction with the adjacent upper face provides an abutment against which the cross-tee may be disposed such that the cross-tee is at 90° to the main-tee thereby enabling easy permanent riveting of the tee to the wall angle. A method of installing a ceiling grid is also provided.
