Patent number: 7902884Abstract: An H-bridge circuit includes a lower-arm field-effect transistor and a current supplying element that turns on when the drain of the lower-arm field-effect transistor is negatively biased due to regenerative current. When turned on, the current supplying element conducts current from the source to the drain of the lower-arm field-effect transistor, in parallel with a parasitic diode inherent in the lower-arm field effect transistor. The current supplying element competes with other parasitic elements that conduct current from peripheral circuitry to the drain of the lower-arm field-effect transistor, thereby reducing the amount of such current drawn through the peripheral circuitry and lessening the impact of the regenerative current on the peripheral circuits.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2009Date of Patent: March 8, 2011Assignee: Oki Semiconductor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Miyuki Kanai, Hirokazu Fujimaki, Takeshi Shimizu

Patent number: 7904874Abstract: We propose an opposite-phase scheme for peak current reduction. The basic idea is to divide the clock buffers at each level of the clock tree into two sets: one half of the clock buffers operate at the same phase as the clock source, and the other half of the clock buffers operate at the opposite phase to the clock source. Consequently, our approach can effectively reduce the peak current of the clock tree. The method enables the opposite-phase scheme to combine with the electronic design automation (EDA) tools that are commonly used in modern industries.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2008Date of Patent: March 8, 2011Assignee: Industrial Technology Research InstituteInventors: Yow-Tyng Nieh, Sheng-Yu Hsu, Shih-Hsu Huang, Yeong-Jar Chang

Patent number: 7900713Abstract: A main shaft locking mechanism includes a fixing ring, a main shaft and detents. The main shaft includes an equilateral portion that has an equilateral cross section. A number of the corners of the equilateral portion is equal to that of the detents. The detent has an exterior side and an interior side opposite to the exterior side. The interior side includes two corner protrusions protruded out from two ends thereof and a concave portion defined between the two corner protrusions. The corners of the main shaft are received in the concave portions of the detents. When the main shaft is manually driven to rotate, the corners of the main shaft drive the detents to deviate. Therefore, the exterior sides of the detents interfere against the fixing ring. Then the detents prevent the main shaft from further rotating, thus locking up the main shaft.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2009Date of Patent: March 8, 2011Assignee: Top Gearbox Industry Co., Ltd.Inventor: Ting-Kuang Chen
