  • Patent number: 7848982
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system of method and system of aggregating consideration associated with a request is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes generating a request (e.g., may include a performance request, an article request, a mission and/or an altruistic request) of an entity based on a set of parameters provided by an initiating patron of the entity, allocating an initial consideration to the request from the initiating patron, generating a profile of the request having the initial consideration in a request aggregation environment and allocating, to the initial consideration, an additional consideration provided when a different patron contributes the additional consideration to the request. The method may include determining whether contact information of the entity provided by the initiating patron and the different patron references to a verified contact data and communicating the request to the entity based on the contact information and the verified contact data.

  • Patent number: 7847285
Abstract: Configurable power segmentation using a nanotube structure is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes patterning a nanotube structure adjacent to a transistor layer in an integrated circuit, and coupling a power region in the transistor layer to at least one power source based on a state of the nanotube structure. Nanotube material may be sputtered over a plurality of layers to form the nanotube structure. The nanotube structure may be curved to flex to a conductive surface when a current is applied to the nanotube structure. The power region may be coupled with at least two power sources that are concatenated together to provide cascaded current to the power region. One or more power regions in the integrated circuit may be enable based on the patterning the nanotube structure and the coupling of the power region to at least one power source.

  • Patent number: 7826212
Abstract: Thermal control through a channel structure is disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes devices operable at an undesired temperature relative to a desired operating temperature, a vented cover of each of devices, and a channel structure formed along a side face of each of the devices, the channel structure having any number of ridges to transfer a gas between the vented cover and an external location to the apparatus. The gas may modify an operating state of the devices from the undesired temperature to the desired operating temperature. A heat structure coupled to the vented cover and the side face may absorb a portion of an energy dissipated by at least one of the devices. A printed circuit board may be formed along an opposite face relative to the vented cover to enable the gas to escape to the external location through a cavity of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7818209
Abstract: Finding a best price available for a selected product, computed including all relevant factors available to the search engine. Searching separately for the product by price, and concurrently, searching for any available coupons or other discounts available for that product from the seller. When obtaining price information, querying for relevant information relating to purchase decisions. Obtaining relevant information from third-party sources. When obtaining discount information, querying for relevant information relating to applicability of that discount. Matching price information with coupon information for each selected requested product, and computing an effective price to the potential buyer. Aggregating the information it obtains, and presenting that aggregated information. Filtering or sorting those results. Maintaining separate pricing information for each product, uniquely identified by a code, in a database entry. Maintaining separate information for each discount.

  • Patent number: 7775130
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system of capacitive sensor based inventory control is disclosed. In one embodiment, an inventory management system includes a first conductive surface and a second conductive surface substantially parallel to the first conductive surface, a sensor to generate a measurement based on a change in a distance between the first conductive surface and the second conductive surface, a scale formed with a set of plates having inserted between the set of plates the first conductive surface and the second conductive surface and a container placed above the scale such that an item (e.g., a liquid, a solid, a discrete part, a powder and/or a gas, etc.) of the container is weighed through the measurement. The inventory management system may further include a reference capacitor associated with the apparatus to enable the sensor to adjust the measurement based on the environmental condition.

  • Patent number: 7774545
Abstract: A method and a system for volume group creation based on an automatic drive selection scheme are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of a redundant array of independent drives (RAID) includes processing at least one attribute data describing a volume group of the RAID. The method also includes automatically selecting a plurality of drives of the volume group based on at least one of an optimum tray distribution of the volume group, a spindle speed of each drive in the volume group, and an alignment of the plurality of drives in the volume group. In another embodiment, a system of a RAID includes a user device to communicate an attribute data describing a volume group of the RAID, and a drive selection module to automatically select a plurality of drives of the volume group based on the attribute data using a baseline selection algorithm.

  • Patent number: 7769972
Abstract: A method and/or a system of storage system management based on a backup and recovery solution embedded in the storage system is disclosed. A method of a storage system includes coordinating with a host system through a backup coordinator module embedded in the host system during at least one of a backup operation and/or a recovery operation associated with the host system, performing the at least one of the backup operation and/or the recovery operation associated with the host system using a backup and recovery module embedded in a controller firmware of the storage system. The method may include the backup and recovery module which interfaces with the host system through the backup coordinator module is agnostic to an operating system of the host system.

  • Patent number: 7755111
Abstract: Programmable power management using a nanotube structure is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes coupling a nanotube structure of an integrated circuit to a conductive surface when a command is processed, and enabling a group of transistors of the integrated circuit based on the coupling the nanotube structure to the conductive surface. A current may be applied to the nanotube structure to couple the nanotube structure to the conductive surface. The nanotube structure may be formed from a material chosen from one or more of a polymer, carbon, and a composite material. The group of transistors may be enabled during an activation sequence of the integrated circuit. In addition, one or more transistors of the group of transistors may be disengaged from the one or more power sources (e.g., to minimize leakage) when the nanotube structure is decoupled from the conductive surface.
