  • Patent number: 6978570
Abstract: An adjustable swivel base assembly and track for swivel mounting fishing boat downrigger or planar board masts, including a planar mounting base plate, a pair of stationary riser supports on the base plate, and a planar bottom bearing plate stationarily supported on the upper ends of the supports. Vertically spaced planar bottom and top bearings are stationarily affixed to the bearing plate and a planar swivel top plate is supported on and sandwiched slidably between the bearings, and is adapted to carry and swivel the mast load. An indexable locking system selectively locks the swivel plate in any one of a plurality of angularly spaced positions. A track is mounted on a fishing boat and has side edge flanges with mutually facing in-turned lips that overlap opposite side edges of the base plate when slidably and releasably mounted in the track.

  • Patent number: 6966302
Abstract: A valve for controlling flow of a fluid includes a valve body defining at least in part an inlet, an outlet, at least one chamber, and an orifice in communication with the chamber. A valve member is received at least in part in one chamber for reciprocation or rotation between an open position permitting fluid flow through the inlet and into the outlet, and a closed position at least substantially restricting fluid flow through the outlet. In the reciprocating version the movement of the spool toward its open position causes fluid in the chamber to be displaced out of the cavity through the at least one orifice. In one exemplary embodiment, a fuel system includes a valve between a primary fuel pump and a secondary fuel pump driven by a portion of the output of pressurized fuel from the primary fuel pump.

  • Patent number: 6964268
Abstract: A venting system for a fuel tank has an inlet opening that is communicated with a liquid separator arranged between the inlet opening and a vapor canister that preferably has an activated carbon filter. The liquid separator is preferably arranged in the interior of the fuel tank. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a plurality of vent lines are arranged in the interior of the tank with the inlet openings of the vent lines spaced apart from each other so that there is always at least one inlet opening not exposed to liquid fuel. A line between the liquid separator and the activated carbon filter communicates with the upper region of the liquid separator. These measures ensure that the fuel vapors which are to be vented can pass undisturbed through the liquid separator while any liquid fuel which enters the separator collects in its lower region.

  • Patent number: 6962017
Abstract: A peripheral framing system for mounting and displaying a poster or other sheet material. The framing system requires no rigid backing since the framing elements themselves serve to support the poster or other displayed object. The system is comprised of a base structure, a clamping structure and, if desired, a protective translucent covering. The base structure includes several elongated frame members, each of which extends between a pair of angled ends. The ends of adjacent base frame members join together by means of a mortise and tenon to form a rectangular base frame when assembled. The clamping structure comprises several clamping members, one for each of the frame members, with each of the clamping members having a plurality of pegs. The base frame members, translucent cover, and displayed object each have an equal number of holes to receive the pegs.

  • Patent number: 6960260
Abstract: An electric wire 1 is moved in a moving direction at a desired speed. An insulating layer of varnish is formed on the outer surface of the electric wire 1 by a device for applying the varnish. The device includes a rough-like container 2 and dropping means 8. The rough-like container 2 is located below the electric wire 1 in the moving direction. The dropping means 8 is located for the electric wire above the container. A desired quantity of varnish is dropped from the dropping means 8 toward the outer surface of the electric wire 1 through a flow rate adjusting portion. The flow rate of the varnish is adjusted by the flow rate adjusting portion 9.

  • Patent number: 6957848
Abstract: A laser welded blank for use in applications calling for an engineered or tailor welded blank, such as in vehicle door panel assemblies. Two sheet metal pieces of different thicknesses are in edge-to-edge abutment such that an interface is formed therebetween, however, the mating edges are not parallel. Instead, a first segment of the interface is flush on a first side of the laser welded blank, while a second segment is flush on a second side of the blank. This arrangement permits an adjacent component, such as a rubber seal, located on one side of the laser welded blank to extend across or contact the interface at the first segment, while another component located on the other side of the blank may extend across or contact the interface at the second segment. Because both components are in flush contact with the interface, there is a reduction of air gaps, leaks, etc.

  • Patent number: 6952844
Abstract: A bed-tent provides an enclosure over a mattress. The tent forms a canopy having spaced apart panels and a flexible cover extending between the panels. Each panel includes a hoop of flexible, resilient, strip material and a sheet of flexible fabric in the space within the hoop. Retainers secure the canopy on the mattress. A supporting frame holds the panels erect. The frame has stanchions disposed externally of the canopy and releasably connected to the panels. A frame member externally of the canopy above the cover holds the stanchions upright. The hoops can be twisted or wound into flat coils of reduced diameter so that the entire canopy can be conveniently stored in a small package. The legs and the frame member are made of segments that are normally held together by elastic cords. The segments can be pulled apart and separated for storage in a convenient package.
