Abstract: Novel polymethylol polyphosphonates are prepared by reacting a trisubstituted polyphosphite having at least one alkyl group and formaldehyde. The phosphite reactant may contain the requisite hydroxyl functionality [e.g. - heptakis (dipropylene glycol) triphosphite] or the hydroxyl functionality may be introduced by carrying out the reaction in the presence of a polyol, e.g. - glycerol, as a protic solvent. The resulting reaction product is a water-soluble liquid of relatively low viscosity and may be employed without any refining. The thus-formed polyphosphonates can be readily incorporated into either rigid urethane foam formulations to impart flame retardancy or phenolic resins to improve flexibility.

Abstract: The invention relates to novel silicon compoundsformed by the reaction of a lactone and an aminoalkyl silane or siloxane. These materials are useful to enhance adhesion of various resins to inorganic substrates.
Abstract: Non-aqueous antifoam compositions comprising a lipophilic nonionic surface active agent homogeneously dispersed in a transient non-aqueous siloxanate antifoam agent.
Abstract: Transient, non-aqueous antifoam compositions which comprise the product resulting from heating a silica filler and a condensation product of a partially hydrolyzed trifunctional silane.
Abstract: Polysulfide aryl silanes, mercapto aryl silanes, the hydrolyzates and condensates thereof, a process for the manufacture of said silanes, and their use as coupling agents in vulcanized rubber compounds.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing high yields of hydrosilanes by reacting methylchloropolysilanes with hydrogen gas under pressure at a temperature of from about 25.degree. C to about 350.degree. C in the presence of a copper catalyst. Useful copper catalysts include copper metal, copper salts, and complexes of copper salts with organic ligands.

Abstract: Polyoxyalkylene polyether admixtures and polysiloxane-polyoxyalkylene block copolymers, a solventless process for producing said copolymers using said admixtures, a process for producing flexible polyether polyurethane foam using said copolymers as foam stabilizers and the foam produced thereby.
Abstract: Cationic bis(trimethylsiloxy) siloxanes of the formula:MD.sub.x' Mwherein M is the trimethylsiloxy units, Me.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2, x is an integer of 1 to 3, preferably 1, and D' is a cationic difunctional siloxy unit of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.degree. is a divalent organic group, t is 0 to 1, R is methyl or ethyl, R.sub.2 N is a five to six member organic heterocyclic ring and X is an anion. Also the tertiary amino bis(trimethylsiloxy) siloxanes of the formula MD.sub.x M wherein M and x are as defined above and D is a tertiary amino difunctional siloxy unit of the formula:R.sub.2 NR.degree.(O).sub.t Si(Me)Owherein R.sub.2 N, R.degree. and t are as defined above, which are used in preparing the above cationic siloxanes. The above cationic siloxanes are useful as emulsifiers, e.g., for water-poly(dimethylsiloxane) oil systems, bacteriocides, antistatic agents, wetting agents and mold release agents.
Abstract: This invention relates to novel polyoxyalkylene polymers characterized by olefinic endblocking groups in which the olefinic double bond is in the alpha position and is incapable of isomerizing or shifting to the beta or any other position. The novel polymers readily undergo addition reactions with siloxanes containing SiH to produce novel siloxane-polyoxyalkylene block copolymers that are useful as foam stabilizers for polyurethane foams. The olefinic double bonds undergo little side reactions during such addition reactions and so the product is relatively free of materials other than the block copolymer.
