  • Patent number: 4695740
Abstract: Bidirectional amplifier employs a single buffer amplifier (64). The bidirectional amplifier is programmed by applying a control signal (Q) and its complementary signal (Q), which establishes the state of four pass transistors (P'.sub.1, P'.sub.2, P'.sub.3, P'.sub.4) or four CMOS transmission gates (T.sub.1, T.sub.2, T.sub.3, T.sub.4). For a first selection of the control signal, the bidirectional amplifier receives an input signal on a first lead (A') and produces an amplified signal on a second lead (B'). For a second selection of the control signal, the amplifier receives an input signal on the second lead (B') and produces an amplified output signal on the first lead (A').

  • Patent number: 4687345
Abstract: A crossed roller type linear motion rolling contact bearing assembly includes a straight rail and a slider mounted on the rail slidably therealong. An endless circulating path is defined in the slider, in which a plurality of rollers are provided. Since the path includes a load section where the rollers provide a rolling contact between the slider and the rail, the slider may slidably move along the rail. Also provided in the endless path are a plurality of roller separators each of which is interposed between two adjacent rollers thereby keeping these two rollers as spaced apart from each other at all times. The separator has a pair of roller-receiving recesses for holding therein the associated rollers in a crossed arrangement, and each of the roller-receiving recesses is so shaped that the roller received therein can change its orientation over a predetermined range so as to maintain a predetermined positional relationship between the two rollers received in the recesses on both sides of the separator.

  • Patent number: 4655611
Abstract: A ball spline bearing assembly includes an outer, hollow cylinder, a guide shaft which extends through the cylinder and a plurality of balls interposed between the splined, opposite surfaces of the cylinder and the shaft. The cylinder is provided with an end member formed with a required number of connection passages at each end, so that two adjacent guide passages defined between the splined, opposite surfaces of the cylinder and the shaft are connected by the connection passage at each end thereby defining an endless path along which the balls can roll indefinitely. A tubular-shaped ball retainer is interposed between the shaft and the cylinder and is formed with a plurality of elongated windows. The ball retainer serves to keep the balls in rolling contact with both the cylinder and the shaft in a set of alternate straight guide passages; however in the other set of alternate straight guide passages they are in rolling contact with either the cylinder or the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4654830
Abstract: Means are provided for replacing a defective row (or column) of memory in a fuse-array PROM which comprises disabling the defective row and programming a redundant row to respond to the address of the defective row. Means are also provided for reducing the swing between high and low address voltages. The redundant row is connected via an AND gate through fuses to all ADDRESS and ADDRESS lines of the address buffer, so that the redundant row is always off until programmed. If a defective row is found, all memory cells in the defective row are disabled and the redundant row is programmed by selectively blowing fuses leading to the ADDRESS and ADDRESS lines thus causing the redundant row to respond to the address of the defective row.

  • Patent number: 4652134
Abstract: A system for aligning a semiconductor wafer with a mask bearing a pattern to be formed on the wafer, in which both the wafer and the mask bear an alignment mark, and in which light used for alignment is filtered to transmit only in a selected bandwidth, uses a reflector system to gather light reflected from edges of the alignment mark on the wafer. In order to minimize the effect of erroneous alignment signals from standing waves generated when the alignment signal is reflected from a wafer coated with a layer of photoresist, a second filter is placed in the path of light after it has reflected from the target. This second filter transmits a range of the reflected light which does not produce standing waves.

  • Patent number: 4649520
Abstract: A programmable read only memory includes a transistor having an N type source, an N type drain, and a polysilicon floating gate extending over the channel between the source and drain. The floating gate also extends over and is capacitively coupled to an N well. By applying an electric potential to the N well, the potential on the floating gate above the channel is altered.Within the N well is a P region, which mitigates the decrease in capacitive coupling between the N well and the floating gate caused by carrier depletion.

  • Patent number: 4649435
Abstract: A method is disclosed for reducing the information needed to communicate graphical information of high quality from one point to another in a system which provides codes describing graphical characters to represent portions of an image. Like characters of a standard size which frequently appear in adjacent strings, for example to represent the background of a graphical picture, are replaced with larger characters of carefully selected size having the repetitive pattern of the standard character. Sending larger characters greatly reduces the time and information needed to reproduce a graphical image.
