  • Patent number: 5795535
Abstract: A precut die apparatus arranged and adapted for use in a thermoform-trimming method and system to produce plastic molded articles, and to the method and system in which the apparatus is employed. The precut apparatus is positioned, in the method and system, between the form press and the trim station. The precut apparatus is arranged to precut, in a desired and selected manner, the thermoformed sheet material containing thermoformed articles therein, about the periphery of the thermoformed articles. The precut provides for a bridged and joining area of the sheet material to allow for slight movement and adjusting of the molded articles for precise alignment in the punch and die trim step of the thermoforming and trimming operation.

  • Patent number: 5779891
Abstract: A foul-resistant, flow-through capacitor, a system employing the capacitor and a method of separation is disclosed wherein the capacitor has at least one anode and cathode electrode pair. The electrodes are formed of high surface area, electrically conductive material and have an open, preferably straight, fluid flow-through path. Typically, the flow path is formed by a plurality of straight, parallel, spaced apart electrodes with the flow path not greater than one of the X-Y-Z distance components of the capacitor. The flow-through capacitor avoids fouling in use and may be employed with saturated waste or other streams.

  • Patent number: 5773531
Abstract: A modified acrylic urethane prepolymer composition and an unsaturated polyester resin composition to which the prepolymer has been added. The prepolymer composition includes an acrylic urethane prepolymer prepared by the reaction of diisocyanate, like MDI, with an hydroxyl-containing acrylate monomer, such as a pentaerythritol triacrylate, which prepolymer composition may contain a styrene monomer and an inhibitor, such as benzoquinone, to retard the reaction of the prepolymer and styrene monomer prior to the addition of the prepolymer composition into the polyester resin composition. The employment of the modified urethane prepolymer composition provides for the reduction in the amount of styrene monomer used in the unsaturated resin composition and also provides for improved chemical and physical properties of the cured, unsaturated resin composition, such as a reduction in glass roll-out when the resin composition is employed with fiberglass.

  • Patent number: 5763036
Abstract: A modified bitumen sheet material and method for a protective moisture barrier, particularly for masonry surfaces. The sheet material has a bitumen layer modified by the addition of a minor amount of a long-chain polybutadiene-isocyanate urethane polymer and optionally, a modifying amount of a hydrocarbon oil to provide a stable, non-flow and selected tackified surface properties to the bitumen layer. The sheet material includes a releasable casting paper film on one surface of the bitumen layer, to be removed prior to use, and a cross-linked polyethylene film bonded to the other outer surface of the bitumen layer as a handling or moisture barrier sheet. The sheet material is prepared by casting the hot, melted bitumen as a layer onto a casting paper sheet and applying the outer film to the exposed bitumen surface to bond to the top surface.
