Patent number: 4869675Abstract: An electrical connector for vehicles in which a junction block and an electronic circuit unit are connected disengageably through connectors thereof which enable the connection. The connector of the unit enabling connection to the junction block is provided in such a manner as to project from a casing which forms a plane of reference for fitting the unit to engage with the junction block. By virtue of this arrangement, design and manufacture of a bus bar within the junction block is facilitated, thereby enhancing the reliability for the electric connection.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventor: Kikuo Ogawa

Patent number: 4864323Abstract: A method of operating a continuous ink jet printing system which includes a nozzle arranged to be vibrated by a piezoelectric oscillator. The nozzle, in use, passes a stream of ink past a charging electrode. The continuity of charge detection is sensed by a charge detector disposed immediately downstream of the charging electrode. The amplitude of the stimulation voltage applied to the piezoelectric oscillator is set sufficiently low such that the level of charge detected by the charge detector is below a threshold value. The amplitude of the stimulation voltage is then increased in discrete steps until the charge detector detects intermittent and proper droplet charging. The amplitude of the stimulation voltage is then further increased from its level at the end of the second step by a predetermined amount.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1988Date of Patent: September 5, 1989Assignee: Domino Printing Sciences PLCInventors: Ammar Lecheheb, James J. Patent number: 4844930Abstract: A low temperature continuous frying process is used to make potato chips which are similar in taste and texture to those produced by the slow-cooked batch or kettle process. Potato slices are conveyed through first, second and third frying zones in a heated liquid frying medium, and the frying medium is admitted separately into each zone at a rate and temperature such that the potato slices are exposed first to a decrease and then to an increase in the temperature of the frying medium over time. The potato slices take on a pliable and shape-holding consistency as they are conveyed through the second frying zone, and folded potato chips may be obtained by agitating and compacting the potato slices as they are conveyed through this zone. The agitation and compaction may be carried out by rotating paddle assemblies arranged longitudinally in the frying vessel. Each paddle assembly comprises a rotatable shaft to which a number of vanes are affixed in a helical pattern.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1987Date of Patent: July 4, 1989Assignee: Borden, Inc.Inventors: George P. Patent number: 4839525Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for measuring the coordinates of each edge of a tape is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of attaching a tape to a surface of an object, such as a three-dimensional subject, to be measured in such a manner that at least one edge of the tape is placed along a measurement line, such as an edge, on the surface, the tape and the surface differing from each other in reflectance; projecting a deflected spot beam onto the area of the surface of the object including the edges of the tape; and detecting the portion of the area the reflectance of which sharply varies, thereby calculating the two-dimensional coordinates of the thus-detected values.
