An electric power apparatus is coupled between the base and the lifting member for incrementally moving the lifting member between a lowered position and a raised position. A remote control is coupled to the electric power apparatus for controlling the operation thereof.

Abstract: Optoelectric mounting and interconnect apparatus includes housing designed to be engaged in receiving equipment. An optoelectric module is mounted in the housing and includes a ferrule with a lens assembly engaged in the ferrule along the optical axis. One end of the ferrule is formed to receive an optical fiber positioned adjacent the lens assembly and an optoelectric device is affixed to a second end of the ferrule so that light traveling along the optical axis appears at the optoelectric device. A printed circuit board is attached to the housing and electrically coupled to the optoelectric device and has external equipment connections and at least one ground potential connection. A metal can surrounds the module and the printed circuit board so as to extend from receiving equipment to external equipment.

The buttocks cleavage-revealing portion is an opening and see-through material is disposed at the opening. The garment is a pant having leg portions depending from a waist, and the opening is disposed below the waist.

Abstract: A semiconductor quantum oscillation device, which realizes Bloch oscillation on the basis of a novel carrier injection scheme, comprises a multilayer semiconductor structure and a means for applying a voltage to said structure. The multilayer structure comprises a tunneling injection region and a pair of oscillation regions which are located on both sides of the tunneling injection region and adjacent to it. The voltage applied across the tunneling region and the pair of oscillation regions causes valence electrons to enter into the conduction band through interband tunneling in the tunneling injection region and leads to electrons and holes being injected into the pair of oscillation regions, respectively. The electrons and holes injected this way undergo quantum oscillation motion and produce far-infrared radiation. The device of the present invention will pave the way for effectively utilizing the electromagnetic spectral resource between the high-end of millimeter-wave and the low-end of far infrared.

A refuse collection body having a front end and a rear end, and a frame extending along a bottom of the body from adjacent the front end to adjacent the rear end is provided. A king pin is mounted to the frame proximate the front end for attachment to a fifth wheel of a tractor and an axle assembly is mounted to the frame proximate the rear end.

Abstract: A vertebral drill bit for forming a pathway through a pedicle into a vertebral body. The vertebral drill bit includes a cutting shank having a generally uniform diameter, an attachment head at one end of the cutting shank and a tip at the other end of the cutting shank. Also included is a point at which the diameter of the cutting shank at the second end begins to get smaller to form the tip. A flute is formed in the cutting shank and extends from the end to the tip. An edge of the flute from the first end to proximate the point is sharp for cutting, while edges of the flute from the point to the tip are rounded.

Abstract: An automatic cigarette lighter comprises a thermal resistance element mounted in a sealed case and powered by a switch activated power supply. Operation of the thermal resistance element is controlled by a timer to heat for a predetermined time after activation of the switch and then to remain off for a predetermined period of time before reactivation is possible. The automatic cigarette lighter finds particular advantage in situations where naked flame is unsafe or undesirable. It is also useful in secure establishments, such as prisons.

Abstract: A manhole cover removing tool includes an elongated body having an upper end with a handle attached and a lower end defining a pivot area. A first elongated member is attached to the body so as to extend generally transversely therefrom in a first direction and terminate in a pointed end designed to engage an open pick hole type of manhole cover. A second elongated member is attached to the body so as to extend generally transversely therefrom in a second direction, generally opposite to the first direction, and terminate in a flattened end designed to engage a recessed pick hole type of manhole cover. In a preferred embodiment the handle, elongated body and one of the first and second elongated members are formed integrally from a single metal rod.

The hollow base has a second opening for the ingress and egress of a cat or the like. A pair of vertical walls are removably attached to an upper surface of the base and an enclosed sleeping/play area, with an ingress and egress opening, is removably attached to an upper edge of the vertical walls in the use mode. The vertical walls and enclosed sleeping/play area are designed to be stored in the hollow base during the stored mode.
